Empire City Records is the result of a mutual association between CEO Jason Rockland, DJ Sickamore (Atlantic Records A&R/I Can Make You Famous), Kori Kane and A&R Animal Steele. After over a year of scouting a LOT of new talent, they enlisted the Bay Area emcee Sky Balla as their first artist.

SKY BALLA IS DOPE NO DOUBT ABOUT THAT BUT I JUST WISH HE WOULD HAVE MORE BAY ARTISTS FEATURE ON HIS ALBUM.

ON MOBB REPORT THE ONLY BAY FEATURES HE HAD WAS E-40, QUINN, AND KEAK. COLD PART ABOUT IT IS QUINN AND KEAK'S LYRICS WERE RECYCLED FROM THE OLD TONE CAPONE PRODUCED TRACK "HANDS IN THE SKY".
