SJ Police To Begin Wearing Crime Cameras

Starting Friday, 18 San Jose police officers will be deployed with wearable cameras. San Jose is the first major city in the U.S. to use this new technology.
The camera comes from the same company that makes tasers. It is worn on the uniform and hooked up to a device worn on the ear.
"When an officer hits a button on the machine, it can track the audio and the video for everything they're seeing," said San Jose Police Chief Rob Davis.
Davis said this could transform law enforcement by recording everything the officers see.
