When did Bay Area rap die? If anything, this is the rebirth. I haven't seen this much worthwhile & original music coming out of the Bay all at one time since the early 2000's. If all you listen to is Mobb Music, I could see you saying that... otherwise, I completely disagree.

Ain't that the truth. I'm not even talking about artists who portray a gangsta image though, I'm talking in general. It's amazing how many artists come off as self-absorbed... a lot don't even fuck with rap like that and are just doing it as an ego trip. There's also a lot that are humble and appreciate the art-form though... I see plenty of them on here, so it balances out the bullshit. IMO, if you're a self-proclaimed Hip Hop artist but you ain't a fan of Hip Hop (i.e. you don't fuck with the music or culture like that) then why the fuck are you rapping? I don't see people like that having much to contribute to the movement when they're not even invested in it. The only downside of the Hyphy Movement IMO is that it gave a lot of people like that an excuse to hop on the Bay bandwagon when really they didn't give a shit about the music. Case in point: How many niggas who came out as Hyphy rappers are even around anymore? Probably somewhere around 1/50th.

artists who rap and say they dont fuck with rap are most likely wack ass fuck on the mic and have terrible choice of production as well. i see alot of people big up wack ass music then turn around and say that industry shit is wack. i think there is alot of dishonesty goin on here. i am guilty of it too. i dont say shit if local mutherfuckers are wack. i just dont support it. but i dont support anyone really. all the music i listen too is downloaded. the cd's i bought at random swapmeats reminded me why i dont pay for music. i probably dont make sense. maybe i should've put this post on a different thread. im gonna click post quick reply anyway cuz i already typed all this shit up. damm i need some sleep. smh and a cmon son to myself for whatever the fuck i just typed. lol

people like me are the reason for the downfall

we should be putting out more projects and drumming up more local music buzz for the boards to talk about
first three months of 2012 I'm putting in a real effort to do just that

i already have almost 2 eps finished in the last few weeks

real quality music

it's up to the artists on bart/siccness to keep it poppin for the posters

not the other way around
