(WEEK 1)
[From Josh Rizeberg - What's the Word? "No rest for Sic ill this summer"] "By far the busiest man this summer was SIC ILL, the once former head of the huge Voltron Transformer that was Darxiide. Darxiide was a large group of ragtag Hilltop MCs. They've since become Koomaniacs and other solo artists. SIC ILL always did most of the work for that crew. He often recorded them, did some of their production and shot their videos. He's now on a solo grind. This summer he hit the town with 22 videos! I'm not kidding.
Go to his youtube page and just start going down the list. It's an interesting project to say the least. It sounds as if SIC ILL got a new production program, a new camera and just went crazy figuring stuff out. The beats are warped and weird in an off-the-beat-en-path way. Their weird timing and bass-lines mixed with strange, melodious sounds that make lots of his new tracks strange and entertaining. SIC ILL also has a peculiar flow. Some may say it's a bit mush-mouthed. He hits on and off the beat with slow and fast flows. All the videos have feeling, emotion, humor and candor. They're a real glimpse into the artist that is SIC ILL. It was quite the summer output for the man who took most of last year off, regrouping after the dissolution of Darxiide. Even though he dropped tons of music, he kept his stage shows limited. You were one of the lucky ones if you got to see his one show this summer at a "Word 3rd Thursday".

[Exerpt from What's The Word? - When Mexico, California, Tacoma and hip-hop collide]
...Lil Dreams (Golden Brown Entertainment) who spent time on hilltop in Tacoma met Darxiide. At the time Darxiide was a large hilltop hip-hop crew. They were doing shows and releasing music locally. It was Sic ill from Darxiide who gave Golden Brown Entertainment its first show.
