I personally enjoyed this story. lol
BRIDGEPORT — A city man, who allegedly ordered his 9-foot-long albino python to attack his girlfriend and two police officers, was held in lieu of $10,000 bond Tuesday. In addition to setting the bond, Superior Court Judge
Matthew Frechette ordered Victor Rodriguez, 21, to undergo mental-health and substance-abuse evaluation.
He also issued a protective order preventing Rodriguez from coming within 100 yards of his 21-year-old girlfriend. The judge continued the case to July 23.
Rodriguez is charged with disorderly conduct and second-degree threatening. He was arrested Monday when officers were sent to the Cambridge Apartments on Main Street to investigate a domestic violence complaint. When officers arrived, they heard screaming from one of the apartments. Officers knocked on the door, but there was no response, police said.
Rodriguez finally opened the door and yelled at the officers that they couldn't come in without a warrant, police said. Draped around his neck was a large albino snake, police said. Rodriguez pushed the head of the python toward the officers. He then pounded the floor trying to aggravate the snake and yelled, "Get him!," gesturing toward Officer Brian Spillane, police said.
The snake was taken into custody by animal control officers and is being held at the city's animal shelter.
