i don't see it happening until we come into an energy crisis about ten years from now due to the simple fact that it supports too much corruption...but once our generation is running the country without bullshit hidden agendas it will change many things; so it is safe to say yes it will happen in our lifetime, sooner than later

Should it be legalized. YES. Reasons. Too many.(will elaborate if needed)

Do i want it to be legalized. NO. Reasons. Exactly what D-Locc said. It puts food on the table for the unemployed.

We can all get it so it's like it's legalized anyway. But when caught the penalty is too harsh. It's a win-lose lose-win topic.

Please they'd legalize it but put hella twisted laws so that ppl could still get locked up.. They'd legalize their own LOW THC version mostlikely somethin a lil better than hemp.. and say some shit like if u continue to smoke or grow other types u'll get life in prison.. its too profitable (prisons are) to stop bustin folks for weed... THEY'D DO SOMETHIN SO SHADY JUST LIKE THE GOVERNMENT.. Lol it wouldnt be nearly as legal like in Europe and it would still be illegal by some means....

for the most part, i think it should be legalized. the only downfalls i can think of is that people will be showing up to work high and shit like that.

REASON BEING IS BECAUSE IF THEY LEGALIZED IT.....THE GOVERNMENT WOULD MAKE ZERO PROFIT OFF OF IT, & THATS THE ONLY REASON THEY WOULD MAKE IT LEGAL. ( TAXING MARIJUANA )
I DISAGREE WITH YOU THERE SHEA.
IF IT WAS LEGAL THE GOV WOULD MAKE A GRIP OFF OF IT.
HOW???
ALONG WITH TAXING THE HELL OUTA OF IT, THERE WOULD BE ALL KINDS OF HIDDEN FEES AND BULLSHIT THAT A BUNCH OF CRACKER ASS POLITICIANS CAME UP WITH BY PLOTTING
"HOW MUCH CASH CAN THE GOV MAKE FROM THIS".

THE GOV ONLY MAKES MOVES THAT THEY CAN PROFIT FROM...
MY WHOLE LIFE HAS BEEN SURROUNDED BY "LAWS" THAT WERE MADE BY 75 YEAR OLD CRACCERS.
LOOK AT THE SENATE AND HOUSE...THEY ALL OLD ASS WHITE FOOLS makin laws for blaccs, ricans, mex, asian etc.

my muthafuccin bad for gettin off the topic........

BUT WHERE WOULD THE "HIDDEN FEES" BE AT?
you know how that goes SHEA....for EX. look at the BANK SYSTEM and PHONE COMPANIES..even the musicc industry....they all
NOTORIOUS for "fee this" and "tax that".
I STILL DONT UNDERSTAND MY DAMN PHONE BILL.....
NOT EVEN THE DATELINE NEWS REPORTERS UNDERSTOOD IT WHEN THEY DID A REPORT ON PHONE BILLS.

I FEEL YOUR POINT-

ARE YOU SAYING THAT ALL POLITICIANS ARE WHITE?....THINK AGAIN...LOOK AT YOUR STATE REPRESENTATIVE FOR TEXAS...HE AINT WHITE.
OF COURSE NOT CUZZ.....
but for every 50 white fools in the gov, there are about 5
non-whites folkz in there with them, tryin to hold shit down with no lucc!

SHEA is right but, the real pressure to keep it illegal is coming from the special interest groups my friend. Big Tobacco alone stands to lose billions if marijuana is legalized. Why spark up a cancer stick for a slight buzz when you can roll a fatty for MUCH cheaper (the production costs would absolutely plummet) and get high as a kite? Not to mention your "health inclined conscious" will be zeroed in on the fact that the maryjane is far healthier too (I'm talking from a chemical point here).

The alcohol industry would take huge losses as well as more and more citizens sparked up to party for much cheaper. I could go on and on on how it would affect the economy and both create AND destroy certain niche businesses.

The tobacco company will still thrive. How many people do you know that buy blunt papers? How many spark up a menthol after they smoke bud? And when they can't smoke bud at work, how many go on a cigarette break?

Plus, the gov't would make money off of it if they treated it like alcohol. I know other laws are a lot more lenient than PA, but here you can only buy beer in a licensed beer store. You can only buy liquor in a liquor store. And you can't make moonshine.

If that were weed, you couldn't buy it anywhere but a gov't regulated store or somewhere with a license, plus you couldn't grow your own without a permit (maybe for medical users).

As for dealers who want to still make money, instead of legalizing, we could decriminalize. The government won't regulate it and won't make any money off of it, but if you get arrested, there are no penalties.

Fuck the system.
