DMX To Retire From Rapping:

Rapper DMX recently revealed that his next album would be his last and final due to what he deems a fake recording industry plagued with payola.

"The soundtrack ["Cradle To The Grave"] is the next joint that's coming out," DMX told AllHipHop.com. "I'm on there, it's some hot joints on there. It's more people but, I can't remember. My next album is not a game and that's also my last album."

While DMX said that he was retiring from rapping, he would continue in the music business as the head of his Bloodline Records imprint.

"A person can walk up to you and feel like they know you," DMX continued. "You pretty much bared your soul to them and for somebody to call it a game it's like you taking away from what it really is."

DMX said that he is finishing his next album and is writing almost four to five songs per day.
Now, I found this on AllHipHop and that is some shit that someone has already brought up, but what I think is that, DMX is definately not the only one thinking about the industry as such, Hmmmmm, Oh yeah, Tech is a prime example, hopefully not retiring, now them two need to get on a bangin' ass track strictly for "Fuck the Industry" and put hella money behind it to get it played and have 50 Cent on that shit too cause that cat is real, fuck what ya heard, and boost the change that is about to come in the industry... And if 50 is on it, it will get played regardless because he's established already and people are gonna love it, so they all can save money on airplay...

I feel that with 50 Cent in there big time now, the game is taking a turn for the better in my opinion, and these "Bubble gum" rappers are gonna have it hard from here on out "HOPEFULLY" to make it big in this game...

Think... 50 Cent, Tech, DMX..... The new N.W.A...... Shiddddddddd...

Sounds like a plan to me... Did yall peep that 50 Cent DVD, dudes real... I dont know about yall, but that man has a point about the game is gonna change. Way over due in my opinion...

I think that Matt or Nick (<--notice: Two nerds:classic:) had brought up that the game is converting over to a Pop style which I call PopHop, but will change over in the coming years. Now I dont know about yall, but I am sick of this shit already, and hopefully it will happen overnight...

Question: How old do yall think Tech will be before he throws in the towel... I can see Tech in 20 years when he's 50 still freestyling and shit, but instead, the hair that he has will be bald and missing and he'll just have the sides instead and look like Bozo the Clown... Shit would be funny....

LMAO your closin'
We need 500 spins just to hear our songs played/ Yall make a video tomorrow it's played the same damned day, C'mon now!

Yeah, it makes perfect sense, and that's some shit that I am speaking on seriously...

Sucks pretty much, I guess the industry has something against tight artist that speak the real, and the industry is so big at this point with Lolly Pop rappers, that a protest wouldn't be supported or looked at really cause the people that are in the light are afraid to bite the hand that feeds them, even though they are artificial ass rappers with Preservatives and 50 Cent & Tech are a box of Kix's, they refuse to open their eye's to what is really goinz on homie... I have so much shit to say about the industry now, I'll loose sleep talking about it... That's probably why I'm so damned tired now... LoL!!!

Remember.......its not personal, just business. The industry has nothing against "tight" rappers. They are just trying to run a profitable business.

This pop hop is a great thing that happened to rap. It will make rap strong. Just like Rock, there are many different kinds and styles. The good thing is as consumers we get to choose. So although we don't but it, it really isn't bad. Rap has sold more units in recent years then it has before. It will right itself. My 2cents

Heat I feel what you are saying, "BUT" again, just because they have come into power and monopolization of the rap games airplay and radio play doesn't mean because they have the money to do that, that they can go in rearranging things. The rap game is a hard fought battle and for someone to come in and say, "fuck what they have worked so hard for, we are going to make Rap a Pop/ Hip hop thing, and that's that...

I know that things wouldn't stay the same from beginning to end, but it's different when you are only focused on one type of rap style or image and closing the doors on the people that are sticking to the roots, that's fucked up. I can barely relate to half of this shit that's being played 60+ times a week over and over, and that's making me loose interest in music for the most part.

I am so glad that 50 Cent is here... I can't tell you how much of a relief it is to see that cat do this shit like he is. It's gonna be a tough job for him to hold down, but I am already anticipating newer shit, and hopefully he'll be consistent enough to be around so that we can see less and less Bubble gum on the bottom of our shoes... And keep the realness going, plus do more "Fuck you fake ass rappers" songs!

I respect their business efforts, but not around here, that's like trying to open up a barbeque spot next to GATES, and naming it GAYTES and selling artificial meat, and people being fooled by it until someone steps up and say's, "Hey, this shit is fake!" Or trying to sell fake dope out of your neighborhood after all the drug dealers have established enough clientele, and because you grew up there, you think that you have the right to fuck shit up, but since it's working you think that no one can go against what you are doing because it's a "BUSINESS" C'Mon now....

Like I said.....
"We need 500 spins just to hear our songs played/ Yall make a video tomorrow it's played the same damned day!!!!!!!
It's not what you make that get's you played, it's who you know, who you are and who you represent that decides if you get some love... Explain why Tech needs 500 spins just to see his video in rotation, but "Making the video" airs Wednesday night, and the damned next Nelly, or Pretty Willy video is on Thursday morning... How the hell can you get 500 spins in one night... C'mon now..

Big Keith... No, PopHop isn't making the rap game stronger, it's making the "RAPPERS" that are trying to get into the rap game Stronger, and now that's a new subject for rappers to speak on.... The rap game as of two weeks ago is weak... As of 50 Cents coming in there and spitting the "TRUTH" and letting these weak muthafuckas know, that "Dare them try to make a diss towards him" and ruin their career as a LollyPop rapper, cause they know that 50 will kill them.... Lyrically... And hurt their pockets...

JLStackin Actually, Ice Cube is the best rapper/actor... In my eye's anyway's...

Yeah, I saw DMX on The Bassment and he was pretty pissed while talking to Tigger about the industry. He said he doesn't get near enough money because he has to pay for promotion and a bunch of shit. Either way I don't care because I don't like him. And I don't like 50 cent. I've heard most of the songs off of his new album and nothing really impresses me. "In da Club" sort of gets me pumped up and makes me feel like working out but that is about all.

it was supposed to be a joke...being a smart ass yourself i thought you could catch that......i DO NOT consider Lil Flip to be a good freestyler.....eventhough he is the self-proclaimed "freestyle king"

but yeah.....on the real......50 and Em is a nice duo.

I don't believe it. Master P retired, Too Short retired and now we'er supposed to believe DMX will retire. Yea right. It will only be a matter of time before the back one more time album comes out. I don't buy it. It's all just hype to pormote record sales. The word retire means absolutely nothing to any one any more.

There are a ton of "Diss" songs about 50, but no one cares ot listen to them... I saw a double disc dedicated to dissing 50. I wouldn't want to hear a word of that versus 50 on a track dissing Irv Gotti, or Ja Rule, then that I'd love...

Lil Flip aint *ish.... Enough of that....

I would give my left whore to see Tech DMX and 50 on a track and I really dont like X at all, but I know that would bring out the best in all of them...

DrDrew... We need to get on the ringer and call up some of D's people and 50's people and see what we can get cracking... Ya never know what Tech has up his sleeve... When Eminem came to KC, I gave him a promo CD of Absolute Power and he automatically knew who Tech was, and that suprised me even though they did a track together in the past, and I also gave one to the rest of D-12... Bizarre saw the Snake And Bat shirt and knew what that was immediately, but I wish that 50 was there, cause I would've had to pull him in a corner and holla at him about a collabo with Tech... That's a big anticipation of mine and it isn't even in the picture yet, but those three is a banger for sure...

*****Tech, nigga I know you are reading and following this homeboy, let me know what you think about what we are talking about dude and quit laughing at our stupid comments! What you got up your sleeve homie, what are your thoughts on this????*****

The industry is ran by 12-18 yr old girls who buy cd"s bottom line and that what record companys go towards so real hip-hop lovers or loveres of rap dont they tend to share and then complain about what being played on radio dont get me wrong its a big fucked up market and you haft to pay to play. But on 50 and Tech do you really think they want to do a record with a person of his skills and he is not huge. I think they will get there people feed first and if it could go down from there do you know how much money it would take to make that happen.. You guys have not bought enought albulms for that to happen
