JOLIET, Illinois -- A 32-year old man is behind bars after allegedly gouged out his uncle's eyes during a fight over a remote control.
Sheriff's deputies say the 62-year-old victim managed to call 911.
When deputies arrived they found the victim at the bottom of the basement stairs with blood streaming from his face.
A sheriff's department report said the man's eyeballs were swollen and protruding a quarter-inch from his sockets.
The victim told investigators that his nephew, Exulam Holman, 32, broke the remote, pushed him down and then tried to pry 'his eyeballs out of the sockets.'
Homan was still at the home.
He was arrested for aggravated domestic battery and is being held on $1 million bail.
