VICTORVILLE, Calif. -- Two women have been charged in connection with a brawl that broke out during a kindergarten graduation in Victorville.
San Bernardino County Sheriff's deputies say two women began arguing during the kindergarten graduation ceremony in June at Puesto del Sol Elementary School.
According to a witness, the two mothers mothers were involved in a verbal argument which turned physical in a field near the ceremony. At that point, several men jumped in, turning the incident into a brawl. The witness also stated someone involved in the fight possibly had a weapon. The campus was placed on lockdown after the fight.
No arrests were made, and no one was hurt in the incident.
The argument was reportedly over a Facebook comment about the Los Angeles Lakers.
Misdemeanor charges have been filed against 31 year old Queiona Burt and 29 year old Marina Ruth Vargas.
Prosecutors say the mothers face up to six months in jail if convicted for interference with peaceful conduct at a school and 90 days in jail for unlawful acts committed on school grounds.
Burt and Vargas are expected to be arraigned on August 25.
