Past few months I've been going back and forth with the Navy about where I'm going since I am suppose to leave this command in November.
In the Navy you put in a wish list of 5 different commands that you look up on a website. Well you have a 9 month window to do all that, but once you get to the 6 month you can't negotiate with them anymore. They choose for you.
A few months back the Navy ran out of money to send people places so I couldn't even put in choices. They didn't wanna send people overseas which is where I need to go because there is a sea to shore rotation. It's like 3 Sea 4 Shore, but since I've been in for two years and haven't been you know they gonna send me somewhere. That's how they roll.
Well I went in to talk to a career counselor and she told me I can't even put in my wish list. I was like that's cool. She told me it's a toss up between going to Cuba and going to Bahrain. I told her I didn't care just send me to which ever.
This morning at like 7 I get a phone call from one of the dipshits that we have on staff telling me to call the career counselor. So I call and it turns out I got selected long ago to go to a command, but no one informed me. It was during one of the first 3 cycles that I put in a wish list. I'm going to Japan for two years.
If you were in the Navy you'd know what a big deal that place is. We got people that would sell their soul to go back to Japan. People text me like "I wish I could murder you and assume your identity. Japan is way better than this shithole."
I won't be convinced of this until I have my hard copy of the orders, but it should be good to go.
---------------
For everyone that cannot read for more than 5 seconds. I am being stationed in Japan after my San Diego orders are over.
That is all.
