CHAVEZ RAVINE (KTLA) -- Police are searching for two suspects after a San Francisco Giants fan was critically beaten in a parking lot at Dodger Stadium after Thursday night's season opener.

Police say the assault happened around 8:30 p.m. in Parking Lot 2.

The victim and two friends, who were wearing Giants apparel, were approached by two men in Dodgers clothing, according to Los Angeles Police Department Sgt. Sanford Rosenberg.

The men attacked the trio, Rosenberg said, kicking and punching them while shouting expletives about the Giants.

One of the victims was hospitalized in critical condition.

Police said at least two people were arrested for public intoxication in the Dodger Stadium parking lot Thursday night. More than 130 were arrested on opening day last year.

It's not clear if drinking was a factor in the attack.

Anyone with information is asked to call the LAPD's Northeast Station at (213) 485-2563.

The Dodgers beat the Giants 2-1 Thursday night, in the first of a four-game series between the division rivals. The next game is scheduled for 7:10 p.m. Friday.

sporting event +alcohol= ass whoopins. i have not been to a professional sporting event yet where there was not a fight between drunk fans. i think the worse one was at a niner game between two women. hair was yanked out, jerseys were ripped and areolas exposed. but yeah bitch ass doyers fans for real anyone else see all the empty seats on opening day. oh and by the way whose idea is it for the defending champions to start the season on the road????

I'm a dodgers fan and I hate the giants but this is stupid mayn. Happens the most with LA and New York teams.

This dude was telling me that at a Chargers/Raiders game in SD this raiders fan got beat down in the bathroom and they all pissed on the dude. He was knocked out cold laying in piss

fuck that you gotta be aware of your surroundings. No way i roll into Chavez Ravine rocking my Barry Bonds jersey unless I'm with a minimum of 10 homeboys. I'm not a pussy but I'm also not a dumb ass. I got friends who attend Long Beach State and they always hit up dodger giants games in LA and they're all giants fans. Never have they had one incident but like i said they roll deep.

You won't get stomped on at any stadium unless you're asking for it. You can rock whatever jersey at any stadium. Sure people will talk shit and you can talk shit back, but don't try to get all brave and say the wrong thing to the wrong guy. Tell that to the dude wearing a Mets jersey in right field pavillion that had the entire section yelling at him until fools started throwing beer at him from like 15 rows away. That dude was sitting there minding his own damn business. Police came in and rushed the dude out of there. You can't tell me that sitting in the bleachers at Giants or Dodgers stadium as a fan of the opposing team that you're not going to get provoked to fight unless you're a dude with 2 babies in your hands or something

It's fucked up when shit like that happens. I retract my statement lol. It's stupid how people can get with others just minding their business. Dodgers stadium is always trouble, even if you're a Dodger fan. There's always brawls between Dodgers fans in the left field pavilion

funny. my dad was telling me back in the 80's he took my uncle and his friends to a giants dodger game at candlestick there was a giants fan walking by 3-4 dodger fans pulled out a dodger pennant and lit it on fire and yelled fuck the dodgers! dude proceded to get the dog shit stomped outta him.. no one came to help him because he was doing sum bullshit he said . the giants fans was swolled and busted up when he was finally escorted outta there.

Some people go overboard with shit talking and get whooped.....Others walk around trying to get in fights at games.....Fuck em all.....Go to the game..Enjoy it..... talk some shit..get some shit talked to you...But be educated about it and have fun.....There are to many sensative people at games....

Exactly. I think you can talk shit on the team, just don't call someone a faggot ass fan and get personal because that's when you'll get stomped on. Too many "fans" that don't know what he fuck is going on lol. A lot of "fans" can't even name more than 5 players on a team
