Yes i know of the search function....I been on this site forever....I used it and it didnt help me much......
Are you trying to say you couldn't find any equipment recommendations? No mics, preamps, soundcard/audio interfaces, OS, bla bla bla...? I don't believe that at all. There is TONS of info on this exact subject that has been posted countless times by numerous people. Sounds more like you're too lazy to do any homework yourself and want someone else to hand it to you.

For under 2 g's I would prolly go with these items.

(Audio Interface) M-Audio FireWire 410--299.99 (first make sure ur computer has a firewire port though.

(Microphone) I would go with the Studio Projects C1--239.99 or if you dont mind spending a little more on the Mic go with maybe a Blue Bluebird---499.99.

(Studio Monitors) I would probably suggest the yamaha hs50's or better yet the hs80's which run about 400 for the pair of hs50 and 600 for the pair of hs80's with a moutpiece to talk the dude down. Also the krk RP8 aren't to bad for the price at around 450-500 for the pair.

(Software) With the M audio interface that I gave u above you have the option to run protools m powered if you so chose, or any other software you want. protools m-powered--249.99

(Good Quailty Cables)--If you buy everything at the same time try and get them to throw the cables in for free, if not looking around a good 100-150 dollars.

Also if you got any extra cash after all that I would throw down on a mic preamp

(Mic preamp) Focusrite TrakMaster PRO---299.99 have heard good things about it.

hope this helps.
