I swear the politicians in Seattle NEVER get anything done. Takes 20 years to do something. Hansen will pay for everything and still politicians talking about bullshit, traffic, the port, Key Arena. Fucking hell, Key Arena, give me a break. At some point you have to move on from the past and look to the future, Key Arena is not the future.

Yeah, "refurbished". Like they already did before which the NBA still deemed not good enough for NBA standards. It's time to move on from the Key, everyone else has many years ago, you have Hansen over here willing to put up all the money to build a state of the art new stadium, which of course only helps the local economy. They can easily get a NHL team first and an NBA team will follow after. What is the problem?! Too many females getting to make the decisions that's the issue, they'd rather say no and have nothing at all just so they can say no.

Kshama Sawant is a hardcore Socialist and she had a deciding No vote last time, the reason being was long time unionized jobs on the port would be lost and she stands in solidarity with that Union, so in order to get her vote, Hansen needs to prove to her at least he'll bring more unionized jobs to Seattle, as she said she wants to help bring back the Sonics but not at the cost of International Longshore and Warehouse Union members, so that's how to get to her. Last time the vote was 5-4 so if he can get Sawant, who is very influential, the rest will follow.

Yeah, the NFL dipping is still far more money than the NBA




But I can see people concerned over the drop in NFL ratings this year while the NBA has been much better than in years past.

I don't care about Hockey but bringing back the Sonics is the only way I'll get back into the NBA. A lot of damage waa caused regionally and it may not ever fully recover, although with David Stern gone im sure that helps we too.

What they should do really is tear down the Key are re-purpose that area as part of a revitalized Seattle Center. They could rebuild a similar but smaller venue (one with actually decent acoustics) for concerts and things of that nature.

I remember seeing I think it was Wiz Khalifa and Macklemore/Ryan Lewis at the Key back at the Bumbershoot of like 2011 and the acoustics were so horrible it sounded like you were in a concert in a giant tile bathroom.

It's true though isn't it I remember when I came here from Chicago and when I was like 10 years old they were talking about the same problems the same issues with the traffic, the viaduct, etc. and here we are all these years later exact same issues nothing has been done nothing! Definitely a reputation for getting fuck all done. I'm sure it's better than many other cities, include corrupt ass Chicago but for whatever reasons it's just so hard to get major things accomplished in this city.

I'd be down with that idea. That part used to be tight. I used to go to Bumbershoot every year back when it was free, my first concert ever was Sir Mix A lot and Kid Sensation. I remember standing in line with my step bros and I asked some dude what time it was and he said, "it's time to get ill" which shows you this was definitely the late 80s haha. I remember the Crazy 8s playing outside in the sun and KXRX 96.5 was all over the place. The arcade, all the carnival games, shit was a blast but the place just never evolved so it's lame now and no one really goes there except maybe tourists. I never understood why they wouldn't pump new life into that prime real estate, its such a good location for that kind of stuff.

Last time I went to Bumbershoot it was asses to elbows, overpriced as fuck not including overpriced food/drinks and not much good music
