The Seahawks will open the 2009 season at home against the St. Louis Rams.
Renton, Wash. – The Seattle Seahawks 2009 schedule was announced today by the National Football League. The schedule includes Seattle’s only third home-opener since 2000 and three consecutive road games for the third time in team history, and first since 2000. The club does not have a nationally-televised primetime game scheduled for the first time since 1983.

The schedule features five contests against 2008 playoff contenders, including two against Super Bowl XLIII runner-up Arizona Cardinals and games vs. the AFC South and NFC North.

The Seahawks look to re-take the NFC West Division when they face two division opponents over the first two weeks of the season. They host the St. Louis Rams on September 13 before heading south to San Francisco to face the 49ers on September 20.

Seattle returns home for three of the next four ballgames heading in to their Week 7 bye week. The Seahawks host the Bears (Sept. 27) before traveling to Indianapolis on October 4. Seattle’s lone back-to-back home games on the season take place on October 11 against Jacksonville and on October 18 against defending NFC Champion Arizona.

Following the team’s bye week, the Seahawks find themselves on the road for four of their next five contests. Seattle travels to Dallas on November 1 and host the Detroit Lions on November 8. Seattle’s three-game tour of the nation begins at Arizona (11/15), at Minnesota (11/22) and at St. Louis (11/29).

Seattle wraps up division play on December 6 at Qwest Field against San Francisco, with remaining games at Houston (12/13), vs. Tampa Bay (12/20), at Green Bay (12/27) and vs. Tennessee (1/3/10).

For ticket information or information on joining Blue Pride, Seattle’s season-ticket waiting list, please contact the Seahawks ticket office at 888/NFL-HAWK. Single-game ticket sales will be announced later this summer

....and how the hell do they lose to the Texans?
i think the texans are gonna be a better team this year, maybe even a playoff team....maybe. I also feel like Hasselbeck is gonna get hurt again, and correct me if I'm wrong but Wallace got realesed, so if he goes down who do you guys have to take over?

i don't really see how they're going to be better then last season. i do like Eugene Wilson being on their squad though. Andre is also a good wideout. but being a playoff team this season, i dont know about all of that. and about releasing Wallace? no they didn't do that. that'd be suicide if they did that. they wouldn't be able to cut it with Jeff Rowe for their only back-up, unless they got a top qb in the draft.

oh ok I thought I read somewhere that they let him go. Who do you think their gonna pick up in the draft? I think an OL or a QB and trading up or developing Sanchez.
