Since Dago is more on that typical west coast gangsta sh!t like the rest of Cali; however, are there any rappers on the come up or have been around droppin music for while that Ive missed & overlooked; that are on that grim dark, medieval, ancient, archaic, prehistoric or ambient, gothic, new age, metalish, psychadelic, acid rap, or horrorcore sh!t like Brotha Lynch, Insane Poetry, ICP, Esham & Natas!!! That type of style pluz sound!!! Anyone heard any yet???
Freaks??? Anyone?????? Cuz imo, that niche needs to be filled in the portion of our ever-so-underrated local music scene... There's too many of them in Detroit & other adjacent areas it's overrated cuz many of the newbies are fuckin lame & generically weak, so why not here in Dago & LA got Insane Poetry, Vegas got Cin Sity/Doomsday Productions & Phoenix got Valtiel & Invisible Silence!!! So like I said, why not here in isolated San Diego??????

I totally understand that guys, alot of that shit is wack & way played out now but still Dago like all the other regions needs variety & diversity, especially right now peoples!!!
The San Diego hiphop/rap scene cant just be known for the typical westside gangbang shit or the typical backpack hip-hop shit and there's of course lots of rotten apples in both of those sides, all cuz of the lack of creativity, imagination, & music quality too, thats most important!!! But to me, since I carry a good ear with great taste, I always wanna hear some artists comin up that are on some other type of sound ya feel me???
But then again thats just my opinion so you dont have to agree with me......

I could not disagree more. Just because the local radio does not play this type of music, or radio across the U.S, does not mean its shit music, or wack. People tend to say oh..it is played out, especially new artists because they believe they have to rap a certain way to get put on.

We are trend setters not followers yet we get all these artists who believe we have to change our sound or format.

Imagine this we muthafuckin carnivores. We love to eat meat. We are creatures of habit and meat does not play out. Yet we have certain restraunts, stores saying we need to eat different and move on and become vegetarians. So all these people keep trying to give us different styles of vegetarian food. At the end of the day we carnivores how many people do you think are gonna convert to be vegetarians...maybe a few....

My point is there is lot of G shit because that is who we are...this is what we are surounded by, and is what we are a customed to and what we know. As far as variety, shit we done heard it all....how many more styles will be created if any....this is what killed rap people thinking they have to move on and like something different.....look at country music and such...they do not feel this urge and it maintains sucessful...when we get to the point where we constantly feel we have to move to something else, we get away from a proven winning formula, and now we have soulja boys and shit, moving forward like this, does not look good.

Actually, the success of country music is because they adopted more styles. They been incorporating pop, gospel and rock styles for a while, which allowed them to reach audiences beyond their primary age demographic...But country music is a bad example because the don't share a similar age demographic as rap music.

i grew out of making that type of music

two things happened that stopped me from babbling about crop circles and black magic and stuff only weirdos care about

1) someone politely pointed out to me that i was neglecting to tell the story of a southeast san diegan-raised resident. meaning, theres alot of political issues, community issues, race issues, immigration issues, morality issues, etc...to be touched on and i'd do better talking about some real shit than getting on my J.R. Tolkien shit.

2) a combination of me growing up, having bills to pay, doing completely different drugs than i did as a young adult, becoming more interested in women than books, and having a need to grow as a person, and also realizing where san diego is at, much less myself.

2.5) no one cares what the fuck you talkin' about

if i ever stop concentrating on doing art i might finish a concept album i planned for a good 10 years that touches on this subject, well its actually side a of the album...but....i really doubt ill get to that until summer if at all..rapping aint my interest anymore..partly because sd is kinda a dickrider city

yeah i said it and i was born here. dont like it fuck it

the new thing is being a pimp on el cajon and univesity , apparently

let san diego tell it all of our rappers are pimping on these two streets..nevermind the actual pimps

so forget about lyrical moat monsters and magical spells, lets rhyme about sending 'bitches' (your baby mom) and that one gun you busted when you were 15

Honestly, I think horror rap on it's own is fucking wack. It's just too wierd and a bunch of gibberish. I'll admit that some of it is funny (Necro), but it's honestly just not MUSIC. It's just random chaotic shit based on the same shit. It's like every rapper is trying to be harder than the other, it just gets repetive and rediculous. I personally like when it's mixed in with gangster rap, Spice1, Brotha Lynch.

Leave it for the white folks, since their the ones with no real street cred so they have to rap about sick shit to even have something to rap about. haha j/k

Yeah but theyre all too generic to me imo...
But why the grim dark shit has to be associated with homicides???
It's very much just like gangsta shit, duh!
Why cant people get into myths, legends & folklore like cryptozoology or other mysteries of the unexplained??? As long as you can use your imagination wisely & make sure your ideas combine all together, then you skills will improve & eventually people will catch interest... Am I somewhat clear on this???
Oh, and read books & do your research!! Innovate your own style!!
Quit tryin to steal ideas from others who done done it a long time ago which have made them, like Brotha Lynch or ICP or even Mars!! LMAO!!!!!!
Then again I strongly suggest our scene can comeup with some over innovative sounds but dont get it twisted tho; it's not gonna obliterate the current local sound like the typical west coast G sh!t cuz theres no fuckin way so the main current hip-hop sound is still here to stay!!! It's not going nowhere; it's not gonna fade away to oblivion cuz Dago rap started with the G sh!t so it's long been established as its main local sound!!!
Right Mitchy?? Right Cricet???
