so our cable was out and since no one in the house could bear 2 more weeks w the cable being out...we up and got some dish network...we now got all sirius on our tv, which is cool, also we got some other music program thats weaker but there...about 100 channels total of music if not more...the problem is big though...

we got about 20 spanish channels...well actually maybe only about 8, theres about 3 channels we get that have both eastcoast and westcoast time...so its the same channel one ahead of the other...then we got a few that are the same channel but from diff countries..??????????what the fuck for i dont know...we get the nfl network which is cool and espnnews but not sure if nfl is permanent or just preview...

but heres the worst part...i dont know what the fuck system we on...but the majority of the fucking channels are on some paid programming bullshitt from like 1.20am till the fucking roosters crow...mofo cant get to sleep to 3,4 am sometimes...then during the day,,,some of the channels have their programs sooner...i coulda sworn judging amy started at 11am on tnt, not at 9...just one of many examples...

we get more channels but its like i have to flip through the channel guide for days looking for channels...

and the clincher...we dont get fox...thats right....no fox.

dont you ever ever ever buy into this bs...we do get a gang of softcore porn channels but theyre worthless...and like 10000 pages of ppv.

you don't have local channels and you need to contact dish network. dish is coo once you realize its all east coast time except the local channels.

and the nfl channel is free

i have dish network. I dont have local channels through the dish.
For me satellite works through channel 3. To watch local channels u just turn off the satellite and channels 2,4,5,7,11,20, and 44 still work.

when i first bought my condo in antioch i wasnt tryen tah wait for tha cable for hella long so we went wit dish network also and that shit fucken sucked i hate that shit.they said we could'nt put it in both rooms without another fucken dish what typa shit is that have 2 dish's on my pad hell naw.never will i fuck wit that agin and we could'nt get local channels at all.this was like in 2001.and from what your sayen they aint changed much

You should run an RCA cable instead, you'll get 10 times better picture and audio quality. If your TV has component video use that as well and it will be another improvement in picture quality.

Satellite is pure digital so by using an analog cable you are losing out on the quality you should be getting. Trust me, your audio will sound like CD quality just by changing a $5 cable...

You should call them up, they might have set your network feeds incorrectly. There is also a way to lock out the channels you are not subscribed to so they dont show up in the guide...

press guide again on the remote and it'll switch. I had hella problems with dish network when I first got it, but thats cuz the person installing it put the dish in a bad ass place and didn't really connect it right.....I kept calling and complaining cuz the shit would go out for no reason untill finally they came and moved the satalite higher and adjusted some other settings and I never had a problem again.....but I switched to comcast cuz its cheaper (although not by much) and had "On Demand"

but whats the point of switching to see the other channels available?i cant get them anyways...only the channels under all subs.

and defy...are those porn channels...theyre softcore right?there aint no european typa movies channels on there is there?

so ifi get my shit switched to our time zone...will i still get the same channels though?except for the ones on eastcoast onlylike wgn and shit?

no on demand isn't porn, its just like a big ass collection of shows and movies you can watch at anytime....like if there's nothing on tv, you can watch an on demand movie or someshit like that.....I don't do tv porn, thats what the internet is for :classic:
