SANTA CLARA, Calif. -- Although Mike Nolan has already shown he doesn't know much about what his quarterbacks are thinking, the San Francisco 49ers coach is fairly certain Shaun Hill is happy to be a starter after six years holding a clipboard.
On Thursday, they gave him a new target to pass to.
Santana Moss, who played last season with the Washington Redskins, agreed to terms on a seven-year, $35 million contract with the San Francisco 49ers, $10 million of which is guaranteed.
"Santana will be the major addition to our offense this year," said Scot McCloughlan, 49ers GM. "He will bring legitimate speed, quickness and playmaking ability to the receiving corps and add a different dimension to the skill players we already have in place."
Moss caught 61 passes for 808 yards and three touchdowns as part of a receiving corps that included Antwaan Randle El and Chris Cooley.
Moss's best overall season was in 2005, when he caught 70 passes for 945 yards and seven touchdowns.
