I've done a search and didn't come across anything addressing this. But my question is:

What needs to be done to an audio clip to single out the vocals in a sample (not sure if I'm wording this right)? But, I've heard songs in which vocal samples were taken from a portion of the song where there was also music playing behind it, but when thrown into the new song, you hear only (or damn near only) the vocals. What kind of processing or effects are needed to do this? Can it be done in Cubase (without additional plugins, if not, what plugin(s) are needed)?

there's no program or plugin that rips tracks from something that is mixed down, it is just done with EQing & filtering. I heard there was something with logic either did that or the opposite (removing vocals to leave the instrumental) but I don't think it truly removes the vocals or music, just filters them down....

Yeah. I know there's no way to remove vocals from a song. I'm just looking for something or some process of filtering the samples.

it would probably be the best like he said just use an eq and when you put the vocals over your beat, you will barely hear any of the music behind the vocals and your beat.
