Since som1 just opened a thread about whats considered moving alot of units in the independent/underground scene. It reminded me of a question i had before :

What are some of these underground artists moving?????

Ad im talking about new and established artists. You always hear how much mainstream artists be sellin,numbers are all ova the place and shit.

But i wanna kno what some underground rappers are doing as far as putting numbers up. People from quinn to yuk it doesnt matter who. Anyone who knows what kind of units some of these artists move holla!

I know yuk move like 400k eytime his solos drop. His first double album solo just reached 1000k but they threated as a single cd so it says 500k sold. Anyway i know mess sold like 200k with disobayish i think. Thats all i know.

i know yuk always be moving crazy units with his solos like 400-450k i think his next one will move alot more cuz his fanbase got alot bigger since the game shit.
Anyway this a good thread.

i think i heard messy saying he move like 100k outta the gate and i also think his disobayish cd moved like 200k eventually.
And i heard quinn saying he moves like around 100k not sure tho.
Bo always be moving that 100-250k depending on wich album. Tech 9 always be moving crazy units too i think he move like 300k everytime not sure tho.

Yuk is making some big money if hes moving that much on indy, plus shows and selling verses. Anyone know about E-40, Mac Dre, Jacka or Keaks sales?

Im not sure how much profit Yuk and them bring in, But Cormega said he aims for 100,000 which will earn him more cash then a major signed rapper, But he always sells 300,000 or higher so makes big profits and keeps the hood eating. He's Doing the best out of New York in terms of indy sales, six albums deep since 2001 all selling 300,00 plus.

This info's what i can renember ill confirm it lata.

Lol @ yuk selling 40 k. first of all yuk isnt on his own independent label he is on rapalot wich was ditributed by EMI and just recently signed a deal with Warner.Anyway check the soundscans! And there are sites that will confirm it too. Also check an old interview with J prince (rapalot ceo) where he talks about sales. herm96 believe me yuks solos dont sell 40k homie it shocked me when dude brought that up cuz im 100% positive that he is wrooong. im not biased at all but why would yuk lie about his sales when people can just go and check the soundscans and make him look like a fool? why would yuk say he sells 400k and up if it really was 40k he would have been exposed!! come on man you know damn right thtas the craziest thing i ever heard yuk selling 40k. dont let your hate for a man spread false information.

It's like this fellas, All artist's inflate their numbers to not look bad. The fact of the matter is the SoundScans dont lie and you arent pushing much beyond SoundScan now that so many mom + pops are gone.

That being said, it should be noted that Messy and Yuk and several of these other indie cats DO EAT VERY WELL. Remember 20,000 X $5 or $6 is over 100K a year plus side projects, shows, apperances etc.

look playa i work in the rapgame my self and i have met some of these dudes myself and i have met ceos and i have seen soundscans with my own eyes!! and i can guarantee you that your numbers are completely false. i dont kno why you would post up something like that.

The point is yuk has alot of fucking fans i dun seen fucking people from canada,australia, new sealand, holland, germany, russia, sweden, france alll over fucking europe and all over the states fucking with yuks music. Dude performs alot overseas and in the states. And he is on RAPALOT not on some small independent label that just started. So basically if you can prove to me yuks solos sell under 400k.... wait a minute you cant cuz its a lie. Niggaz cant stand yuk sellin alot instead of congratulatin they wanna hate and deny.

Look homie i aint tryin to doubt or play down on anything you doing im just saying when i know niggaz personally and i know how hard they working to promote they shit and how they get out there people dont know how hard yuk worked to put up these kind of numbers and then i see some1 that is in the industry postin up bullshit like then i feel like i have to comment on that and correct you. If your facts are that str8 you would also know that soundscan doesnt give the exact numbers cuz alot of stores dont even register they shit i fuck with yuks people directly i know how much godzilla sold dont front my nig it did not sell no 70k! This comes to the point where i fuck with niggaz and i see how hard they work and we all tryin to get a nigga to sell by promotin his shit and then when he does good and people know it i dont wanna see no false info on the net. Check the soundscans on a regular and dont forget that artists are very well informed on how much they sellin cuz stores might not register to soundscan but artists are always aware of how much they sellin.

Not all stores are registered on SoundScan you are correct. But what you might not know that there are only about 1,000 mom + pops left in a country with about 300 million people, and all of them aren't rap stores. So the chain SoundScan figures are pretty accurate. Best Buy owns Musicland, MediaPlay, and Sam Goody and they are all SoundScan. Transworld owns Specs, Strawberries, Coconuts, Willies, Wherehouse, FYE and hella other shit and they are ALL SOUNDSCAN. Tower Records, Hastings, Rasputins, 7th Heavan, Music Millenium, Dimples, and Underground are ALL SOUNDSCAN.

And I am not hating on Yuk homie ever....Yuk is the nigga. He is one of the biggest the West has. The unfortunate reality is that the West doesn't get the love it's supposed to get. Yuk is still one of the top sellers, good or bad that's how it is.

And saying someone's sales isn't promoting homie, that's just hype. To promote you post up covers, talk about songs, request at radio etc.

Everyone could be supporting Yuk alot more by helping his shit get spun on the radio rather than inquiring about his scans.

As for Luniz, they went PLATINUM and the second album did like 250K or maybe 300K I cant remember.

I signed Yuk at Bayside so I had to know all of his record sales.

As for his Scans, I havent checked them lately so you are right I could be off but not by hundreds of thousands. Ill check them just for you and Hubcat. Both of you can email me your email addresses and I will send his scans to you. Im not gonna post them because they aint what I do.

As fans, I understand how hard it is to accept your favorite artist aint selling what you think they are but it aint Yuk's fault, it's his label and distributor's and the current status at retail being all fucked up with too much bullshit clogging the shelves.

Hubcat: And I said NOTHING about Yuk's sales overseas or his touring. I dont have access to that info and I know he does his thing.

Yall have me fucked up that Im bashing Yuk or something but you wrong. Im keeping the game straight because it's too much mis-informaiton out there and Im not the one spreading it.
