For pulling this shit yesterday. I am surprised there wasn't already a thread for this. What a bitch.

Video: Saints player injures chain-gang official during punt return

By Chris Chase

All week, the NFL focused on the danger of players hitting players. After a frightening incident in New Orleans, the league may be forced to consider the danger of players hitting officials.

During punt return coverage in his team's loss to the Clevelnd Browns, New Orleans Saints special teamer Courtney Roby(notes) plowed into a member of the chain gang while in a full sprint. Al Nastaci, who was standing a few feet from the field while holding a first-down marker, fell hard to the ground after Roby shoved him with both hands. The official appeared to hit his head in the process.

He was immediately attended to by medical personnel and was wheeled out of the Superdome on a stretcher after a 15-minute delay. Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that Nastaci was diagnosed with a mild concussion and will remain hospitalized overnight. He is expected to be fine.

i didnt really think it was his fault at first glimpse, hes a great Special teams guy and made some big ST plays as a titan and viking (tackling, forced fumbles shit like that)

but after watching the only excuse he would have is if he was staring down the guy that blocked him out of bounds, im not sure it was intentional but coulda been avoided.....ive seen officials/people hit on the sidelines and they popped right back up....sad to see a case like this but idk about blaming the player.

I wouldn't put the blame on him at all....as you can tell the video shows he was moving in slow motion, so therefore he was moving pretty fast and you can tell he didn't see him in front of him....

Bullshit. Watch the video again. He was 10 yards away from the dude when he stepped out of bounds, and then proceeded to THRUST the chain gang guy with BOTH hands. Didn't see him my ass. HE IS WEARING FLORESCENT ORANGE...you know, so yo can SEE HIM!!!

I can’t see the video, but I watched it live and wasn’t sure what happened.

He pushed him with both hands so it looked like he did it on purpose…but on the sidelines other players were consoling him…seemed like he felt bad. Unless he only felt bad after the dude got hurt…I don’t know.

I don’t see why he would do it on purpose though.

Because he team was getting spanked by the Browns, and he got OWNED on the punt coverage? Who knows. Football players take out their pent up aggression in many ways.

I was at this game and it was silent in the stadium when this happened. I've seen plenty of folks knocked unconscious and I literally thought this dude was either seriously injured or dead. They seemed like they didn't even wanna put him on the cart, which was out there for a good 7-8 minutes while they worked on dude.

.. on a side note I still can't believe we lost to the Browns.
