In the Marines we ran 3 miles every morning before breakfast. My best time when we were qualifing was a lil over 22 minutes. But that's hella weak. 18 minutes or less was the goal and anything over 24 minutes constituted failure.
I wasn't a fast runner but, over long distance I would catch you and beat you down as you collapsed on the ground gasping for air while I had plenty of gas still left in the tank to do a lil victory jig over your body.
