Everyone comparing RTP to everyone else and saying they need to learn to stay competitive. You all do realize comparing round table with say lil ceasers or even pizza hut is like comparing apples to oranges. The quality in round tables sauce and ingredients is far superior to those of the other franchise pizza places thus the price jump. You cant expect to get good quality and pay a low price. You get what u pay for.
It costs a pube to make a good quality pizza. RTP's markup is ridiculous and charging near the same as, say, Little Ceaser's would put them on top of the world.

It costs me about $10 to make a DOPE pizza (with FRESH ingredients), depending on toppings of course (and I don't get the wholesale price on ingredients like a pizza spot does). Big bag of flour can make many pizzas, and bottles of spices go a LONG way. The only thing somebody like me pays for regularly are the cheese and toppings.

Places like RTP get everything in bulk, so it costs next to nothing to make each pizza for them. Paying $20 is getting ripped off, 'cause the shit I make at home costs less and it tastes better.

I'd rather go cop a pizza at Costco than get fucked in the ass by RT.

I agree with u but the whole reason I order pizza is cause I dont feel like making dinner, pizza included. I also can make a bomb pizza but I dont feel like preppin the dough and making a bomb sauce and gettin the yeist right and all that sometimes. Dont get me wrong, cooking is half the fun but sometimes u just wanna eat out. And if these pizza chains get shit at cost then why do they all taste different if fresh ingredients cost next to nothing to get? and hell ya man Costco pizza is bomb! This might sound stupid but I love going in and buying it inside and going outside(or in depending on your costco) to the food court and standing in the red tape line and watching people in the non pre order line get mad lol. Also couldnt your markup argument open the door for all fast food chains, not just pizza? Carls Jr and Jack in the box are prime examples and even Mcdonalds Meal prices are insane now. 7-10 bucks for one meal. I could go get 1lb of 85% lean ground Round for less than that. I think Safeway has some for 5 bucks last I checked for 1lb. That alone could make 3 or 4 quality burgers with your own spices. Lil season all, lil worcestershire sauce, and whatever else you wanna add and that shit is bomb! I think really the bottom line is ya its cheaper to eat at home and buy it yourself period! But sometimes you just wanna eat out, an unfortunately you get what u pay for.

I feel you...I get lazy, too. Shit, sometimes I just wanna play video games and drink beer...lol. I ordered RT a couple months ago and it cost me $27. Since then, I just go to Little Ceaser's if I want pizza but feel lazy. Or, like you said, Costco pizza is BOMB! As far as taste, it depends on who these companies order from. There are a few sauce companies, and I'm sure each of these chains has their own recipes to follow. Another thing is the water...shitty water makes for shitty pizza.

Fast food chains like McD's are a whole different ball game. Prices are ridiculous and the shit is BAD. But, like you stated, they can get away with it because we get lazy. The thing about burger joints is their prices are fairly competitive with each other. Now if it's between a Big Mac or a $6 Burger...I'll be at Carl's because it's in the same ballpark and the taste is right.

Round Table just failed to meet with all the other companies to maintain a competitive edge. Had they offered the $10 deals 2 years ago, they'd be in a different situation. Cats are not spending like before, so they either make it at home or go wherever is cheapest.

All I know is a lot of these places could step their game up and still offer fairly inexpensive products. If the sauce is off, the base was off...they can change the base. If the dough is off, they might want to get better water filters or have water shipped from other areas. Beef, chicken, pepperoni, etc...can all be worked out when bought in bulk.

I like RT, but they're nuts. lol.

aww man I couldnt agree more on the water shit! I use pure water to cook with and make my coffee with! My wife things its stupid but im like shit it makes the taste sooooooo much better! Tap water is so unhealthy and nasty and leaves a nasty after taste. Im also very selective on what brands of water I choose. I like safeway and a few others but ya off topic now lol. I also think thats my problem when I eat out. People wanna tell me Elephant bar is the best thing since sliced bread for good steak and shit or good burgers. Or tell me a nasty shit mexican spot is bomb. Im like wow man are u serious! Tis his own though I guess. Which is why Chilis and Olive Garden will forever be packed on a friday an saterday night. Fuckin Olive Garden, how can you call your self an Italian restaurant and not serve PESTO or CANNOLI'S!!

Pizza Plus in Ripon, CA. has bomb pizza, mozzarella cheese sticks, toasted sandwiches, fresh salad bar and their pizza sauce is to die for.
