ight so for the past 2 years i been using Fruity loops wit a midi keyboard, and my own bank of sounds to put my shyt together, but im gettin tired of dis shyt, and i wana expand and try better equipment, and im thinkin if i should either go wit a keyboard, or an mpc 2500, i was messin wit a fantom x8 today at this one shop, and that shyt was fucken raw as fuck, shyt blew me away, it had a set of lil pads on it too that i could pound on which i really liked, but the x8 is too much, so im lookin at the x6, cuz its cheaper, and it got the pads on it too, but im also interested in an mpc, cuz i like to pound on stuff, and i noe id have to use my own samples, which isnt realy a problem since i got a coo lil sound bank, and the mpc looks less complicated then the fantom, so im wonderin which would be a better choice for me, cuz im sick of this FL studio shyt wit thhis midi keyboard, i wana try some better stuff, I also just started takin piano lessons, so im thinkin the fantom might be a better choice, but for some reason that mpc 2500 is so god damn attractive

If you have access to alot of sounds already and maybe a turntable and some vinyl i'd roll with the MPC, thats if it was me. If you are learning the keys you might like the phantom more. that thing is pretty nasty and i'm pretty sure you can get one with sampling capabilities. that phantom is pretty intense though might have a rough learning curve to it.

Real ish

Fantom. It's a beast. You can sample all your drums just like the MPC. Plus you can resample whatever you play in the board with the keyboard sounds like. You can play some chords over the drums you sampled. Then resample it. Add some Compression on it (Using the Fantom). Put some reverb on it, some delay. You can easily set the delay to play quarter notes or half notes. You can step record. You can edit it after your done recording. You got different swings. The bassline on their are phenonminal. Strings are fat. Easy to flip into song modes. Unlike the old Rolands. You can Normalize your sampled drums unlike the MPC. You can eq them in the board then resample. You can truncate basically splice up samples have different parts of the sample playing on a different keypay or keyboard not. Pitchbend at your side. Electric Pianos are on point. Guitars are realer then real. USB Port, You can dump all your songs into your computer and save them. Shit, you be shocked hearing some of the monsters i created on the Fantom.

mpc will be a waste of your time. youll realize you just bought the hardware version of fruity loops minus the crappy sounds (or any at all for that matter) get the fantom or look into other synth workstations.

where do people get all the sounds for the mpc? like where do u get drums, hit hats, shakers, synths, just basic sounds, cuz i heard it comes with nothing.
as far as drum sounds you sample them from vinyl/c.ds/t.v....wherever you hear a great drum sound...as far as synth sounds...if you have a newer mpc like the 4000 you can load synth sounds etc..however..everyone I know hooks up synths and the mpc sequences the synths.yes the mpc comes with nothing but if you know what you are getting you know the true value....alot of people are being sold on getting something with the most features.....so do you want something thats descent at 25 things or you wanna buy something thats great at fewer things, and buy more specialized equipment

RUN ME DOWN A LIST OF THINGS THE MPC DOES THAT FRUITY LOOPS DOESNT. THEN RUN DOWN A LIST OF THINGS THAT FRUITY LOOPS DOES AND MPC DOESNT. THERES NOTHING HE CAN DO WITH AN MPC HE CANT WITH FRUITY LOOPS BESIDES BANG ON THE PADS. HES GONNA BE SICK WHEN HE HAS TO GO THRU MENUS AND SUCH TO DO THINGS HE COULD HAVE DONE WITH A CLICK OF A MOUSE. IM NOT BASHING THE MPC AS USELESS BUT PEOPLE WHO ARENT AWARE OF WHAT IT IS AND WHY PEOPLE REALLY CHERISH THESE MACHINES AND JUST GO GET ONE ARE DISAPPOINTED ALOT OF THE TIME WHEN THEY REALIZE THEY SPENT 1000 PLUS ON FRUITY LOOPS WITH PADS. AND NO SOUNDS. VALUE WISE THE FANTOM IS CRUSHING ANYTHING MPC.

Id usually be happy to contribute my knowledge, but why?...seems like you got it all figured out.....there are so many factors besides the two things like does the buyer wanna make beats as a hobby or are they wanna sell beats professionally.....first of all you need a computer to make beats on fruity loops...so to compare those who spend a G on an mpc as to those who spend 60-100 on the fruity loops is inaccurate...being it also takes buying a computer........how many midi outs does fruity loops have..to control your moog voyager and other synths?...so your computer has to be equiped with some sort of midi device...are all midi sequencers equal? are all sound engines and how they create sound....analog to digital convertors.....when a your computer has a virus does your whole way you make music cease until your computer is fixed?....all being said if I was going to only buy one piece to make beats Id get the fantomx........it has great sounds...but I aint feelin the sequencer/sampler/pads..but one of the best midi controlers with sounds..
