Just giving everyone a little update on the Record Distribution class Rob Nonies is teaching at SF State's College of Extended Learning. The purpose of the class is to teach anyone interested in forming/running their own label the ins and outs of the independent rap game, with an emphasis on distribution (different types of distribution, how to obtain it, etc). Anyone that knows anything about the Bay Area rap scene knows Rob Nonies is an authority on these subjects and has over 10 years experience in the game.

Additionally, guest speakers come on every week. So far we've had: an entertainment lawyer who spoke about the legal aspects of forming a label, super-producer K-Lou covered the recording/production/mastering process, Daric B from SouthwestBound Magazine, Kev Ski from Urban CD, and John from Silent Partner Records covered CD cover design and CD replication/manufacturing, Gary Archer covered promotions/radio play, and B-12 spoke about the differences between major and independent distribution. Additionally, within the next few weeks Khayree will be coming in as a guest speaker.

I highly reccomend this class next semester to anyone who is serious about succeeding in the independent rap game. Like I said, Rob is one of the authorities - this class is worth the price alone to soak up his knowledge. The guest speakers just sweeten the deal. Check it out, you won't be disappointed. Get at me if you have any questions.
