Ripping Video From My Camera To My Computer?

Does anyone know how to do this that can help me out? I'm completley retarded when it comes to this and need some help figuring it out, Can some one help with what I would need in order to do this?

I used to have some GHETTO ass video editing software. I forgot what it was called though.

you have to get an adapter. i used to have one but I lost the software. basically, it's a little box that transfers your cassettes to digital data on your computer. they cost like $50-$100 and you can get them at Radio Shack or Best Buy or any electronics store. I've only ever seen them made by Dazzle or Zazzle but there are other brands.

No, I think he's using a mini-DV camcorder (he said DVC?) in which case he needs to check his computer for a firewire port. If you already have a firewire port, just get a cable or ceck what your camera came with. If no firewire port, buy a cheap PCI firewire card for $20.

If you have windows XP, just use the built-in XP Movie Maker for editing.
