A 17-year-old Marina boy was shot to death in Marina Saturday night.
Police said they responded to a report of shots fired in the 200 block of Cypress Avenue shortly after 10:20p.m. and arrived to find one uninjured youth who told officers he heard suspicious noises, came out to check his car, and someone began shooting at him.
About 10:40 p.m., police said, two teenage boys arrived at Natividad Medical Center's emergency room, one suffering from a single gunshot wound to the chest, who was pronounced dead after efforts to save him.
The youth with him said they were shot at while walking near the Salinas Transit Center but later admitted the shooting had taken place in Marina.
Police detectives said at least two people wearing dark clothing were seen at the scene of the shooting.
