Three Killed in Richmond Drive-By Shooting Identified
RICHMOND, Calif. (KCBS) -- Authorities have released the names of three men killed in a drive-by shooting in North Richmond that left a fourth victim seriously injured.
Police said 23-year-old Lawrence Gadlin of Berkeley, 34-year-old Gerald Jackson, Jr. of Richmond and 51-year-old Tony Albert of North Richmond were each shot multiple times Thursday night.
Two of them died at the scene, and one of them died en route Doctors Medical Center in San Pablo. The fourth victim was airlifted to John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek and has since been released.
“They are acquaintances,” said Captain Steve Warne of the Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Department, adding the shooting is likely gang-related.
KCBS' George Harris reports
Witnesses told investigators two men driving a red minivan with tinted windows fired the shots around 9 p.m. in the 1700 block of Truman Street near Silver Avenue.
A vehicle matching that description found in Richmond is being processed for clues, but Warne said more information is needed to find the gunmen.
“We don’t know what type of weapons they were, and that information is critical to the case,” he said.
