Ric Flair Quits WWE
Ric Flair has put in his notice to the WWE. He wants to quit because he feels that the WWE hasn't used him properly.

Four Horsemen DVD Not Drug Related

Before we start, we want to make it clear that the Ric Flair situation is not related to the recent mass suspensions of WWE wrestlers who bought drugs from an online pharmacy.

Ric Flair was not named in the federal probe.

Not That Guy

Reports earlier this weekend stated that a top level WWE star had given his notice. The reported stated that the person who had given his notice was a top level Raw superstars. Ric Flair works on Smackdown.

Unhappy

Ric Flair basically gave his notice because he's unhappy with the way the WWE has been using him. There are those who believe that he wasn't too happy about being moved from the Raw brand to the Smackdown brand.

The former leader of the Four Horsemen stable was also unhappy with the lack of communication from management in regards to his situation.

It's interesting to note that Smackdown head writer Michael Hayes was very adamant about getting Ric Flair over to his brand because he wanted to harness the strength of the future Hall of Famers mic skills.

Since Smackdown

Since coming over to the Smackdown brand, Ric Flair hasn't really been used all that much. When he is used, he's basically just an extra in Batista's storyline.

Another thing to note is that a character like Hornswoggle making a mockery of the WWE Cruiserweight Championship gets more television time than a multiple time world champion (including two reigns in the WWE).

When you factor all of that in, it's really not that hard to see why Ric Flair would be upset with his current status in the WWE.

Suitable Role

A good role for Ric Flair would be similar to the one that Finlay has. Finlay is basically the veteran that the writers turn to whenever they need someone to help make the younger inexperienced wrestlers look good in matches. He's also used occasionally as a main eventer.

TNA

TNA is said to be well aware of the situation going on in the WWE with Ric Flair. They would more than likely be willing to shell out some money for Ric Flair, especially since they need a big debut for when they finally get their second hour later on this fall.

The easier TNA schedule would work well for Ric Flair. Plus, Ric Flair's presence and mic skills would do wonders for TNA's credibility.

Closing Thoughts

The WWE is said to be working pretty hard at settling this situation. They definitely don't want Ric Flair to leave. Deep down inside, Ric Flair probably doesn't want to leave either.

Despite his age, Ric Flair can still be a tremendous asset to the WWE. It's a shame that it might end this way.

Didn't Ric state in a radio interview like 2 days ago that it was only a rumor, and had no idea how it got started? *Shrugs* Remember reading something like that...

Stone Cold Steve Austin had a really good idea for a storyline using Ric Flair... A type of Rocky Balboa deal where Ric would end up getting a one last time shot at the title.

WWE was all set to do it, but nothing has happened with it, his "quitting" is supposed to be a wake up call to WWE.

havent heard anything like that (doesnt mean it didnt happen)
Regardless how flair feels, hes still under a contract. He doesnt have to wrestle for wwe, but he wont get paid and until the contract has expired he wont be able to wrestle on tv anywhere else. And most indy promotions will go bankrupt even thinking about him making even the smallest appearance.

I think flair is too old hes still entertaining he would make a better manager or a Gm than a active wrestler and they need to make him a heel again. Ric is the greatest heel of all time

Agree 100% with the greatest heel of all time. But when you have been around for as long as Flair its hard to get people all across the country booing him. they have too much respect to boo the man
