The San Francisco Chronicle says a teenager who was killed at a hip-hop party during the weekend is the fourth person to die since 1996 at events put on by a Berkeley man.
The Chronicle reports that Eugene Cockerham Jr. rents halls and other public spaces by telling owners he's throwing events such as a birthday party or fraternity bash.
The newspaper says the events often turn out to be rowdy parties at which security guards are sometimes overwhelmed.
Saturday night, 15-year-old Scharod Fleming was shot to death and two other people were wounded when someone opened fire on the street outside the YMCA theater in San Francisco's Tenderloin District.
*Anyone know what party this was in the Bay?*
