remember back when having hella features meant something?
so i checked out Ren;s music and my thoughts are
29 tracks...a nice amount of music from an artist from Akron, Ohio by the name of Ren Fetti. an undiscovered artist new to the bay area scene..2 minutes into the album and you can tell this cats spits from the heart, he still sounds hungry and out to get it...unlike these freshman rappers that jump on the scene like theyve already conquered the game. With a steady paced and strong lyrics style, you can hear the streets through his words, solid, hard-hittin base rock production throughout the album....each verse is another crack in the pavement. With a nice mix of both slow and deep street lyrics, to faster-paced,"gone-off-patron-in-the club's vip" bangers. Most of the features are unheard of, at least by me...seems to be mostly locals from Ren's home camp and affiliates...most hold their own with an exception or two..Ren manages to outshine most of the features, which is always a good thing for an artists debut album...
with 29 tracks, there is bound to be something on this album for the style of rap you like, the mixture of sounds and solid topics make this an album worth listening too, and worth whatever you spent on it (its free muthafucka, you got nothing to lose but time)
The production on most of this album reflect the region...they have the same sound styles/influences as Amp's does..bass heavy beats with well connected lyrical wordplay...creativity is displayed constantly ( the rhymes have some complexity to them
(its not the same old "pop pop with a glock, on the block,slangin rocks,killing cops, type of shit)
The thing I like the most is that this artist still sounds hungry...still has hustle....
a lot of rappers are overconfident by their first release....filled with the smoke thats been blown up their ass by half ass overhyping managers and promoters, there rappin for fame because they already got dope money, rappin for hoes and clothes...instead of actually have musical talent and motivation to be an actual musician, not a rich dope dealer who can make words rhyme
