We've lost him to cancer for several years now, but dude has never gotten the attention post-death as other bigger name Bay rappers. I think a lotta of it was due to the fact that he was a part of the No Limit machine and cats on here tend to dismiss 80% of that era when had moved from SMG to Priority.

"The Assassin" was one of the, by far, more consistently good NL releases back when they had the Pen & Pixel covers and were putting out CDs every 5 hours through Priority. Shit, he was one of the few lyricists on there, period.

RIP to a forgotten Richmond artist.

I never forgot him, Big Ed was my favorite No Limit artist, he had some of the best lyrics out there, and his voice / style was dope, very agressive. His metaphors were great.

and you are absolutely right, he has not gotten his just due since he passed, from anybody really, from the cats in the Bay, or from the No Limit camp. Nothing against someone like Soulja Slim, may he rest in peace, but he was another NL artist that died, and there was a huge deal about him dying and he is still very much remembered today, it's like Big Ed just kind of faded from people's memories.

R.I.P to the Assassin

definately my favorite No Limit Artist, along with Lil Ric

Big Ed was one of the rappers who made me realize it was cool to have my deep voice, cus i used to try to hide it when i rapped, and sound like Eazy E or somethin
but Big Ed really utilized his shit, and made me realize it was a gift

rest in peace!!!

^^^^^^^
big ed had a banger on there too

he was always my favorite on no limit - i can only imagine how tight his solo would have been had it dropped right after "True" like it was originally intended to.

RIP Big Ed
