CLEVELAND -- The remains of as many as six people may have been found at the home of a registered sex offender wanted on rape charges, police say.
A spokesperson for the Cleveland Police Department says officers went to the home with a search warrant for 50-year-old Anthony Sowell.
Sowell is wanted in connection for an alleged attack on a woman in his home in September.
Police say when they went inside the home Thursday, they discovered two bodies on the third floor and in advanced stages of decomposition.
A third body was discovered Friday afternoon in a shallow grave in the basement of the home.
Sowell remains at large.
He is 6 feet tall and 155 pounds. He wears eyeglasses and frequently wears a mustache.
Police say Sowell does not drive a car and is known to collect and cash in scrap metal.
Anyone with information on Sowell's whereabouts is asked to contact US Marshals Service Fugitive hotline at 1-866-4-WANTED.
