any studio folks out there who can tell me how many vocals tracks they use in a song. On some songs I record too many and gets all confusing, then on other tracks there's too few and the tracks empty. Maybe i need to mix better?
i only allow one lead and one chorus for tracks that i produce, peolpe dont like it but thats my style,if you can rap then you dont need anymore tracks, everyone uses doubles,i like to do things a little different,
The trick is to not flood the verse. Adlibs and doubles are used to fill in open space that the first track didnt. If you are saying the same thing three times on three tracks the vocals will sound busy. Work on mixing up the adlibs with different levels and effects and the sound should come out cleaner with more seperation and energy.
