::What I look for in a studio::

What I mainly look for in a studio is a professional like atmosphere. I look for clean neat looking producers and clean equipment. Also I would make sure that the person doing my mixing/recording actually cared about my project and did quality work. Thats just a start it's pretty much a first impression type of thing with me!

thats cool. Professionalism is a definit must same with pro equipment.

I know that the industry standard is Pro Tools is there anything else you would like to see in a studio such as location, software, hardware, other stuff like pool table, tv with x-box

::eek:ther musts::

Really in my opinion unless you are going to be kickin it for a while when the mixing process is going down or recording for long periods of time all the other extra is just a distraction. I know when I'm doing my music I don't like there to be many people around or many distractions to sidtrack me. So in my opinion there doesnt need to be any extra's such as pool table, X-Box, TV etc... To me all that is just extra distraction that I dont need in my creativeprocess!

Definetly a clean area, shows good care of their equipment and is well organised. Blaise you have a really good point, I don't like any more than 2 people there with me. Asfar as equipment goes, I don't really care what they are using because if they can mixdown a strong, profesional recording, you know that catches my ear, it doesn't matter. I also don't care about a profesional act, I would rather work with people I know and grew up with compared to some average joe around the block who's legit but can't really relate and understand what Im trying to do with my music. I think the social interaction and the energy that goes around in a studio is important, being confident and comfortable with everything thats going on.

Why would I want to play video games? Im there to make music and do business, not waste time on some video game. A Pool table would be good though, somewhere comfortable and secluded to relax, maybe a bar, most definetly.

I feel you on the whole creative thing. As far as the tv and the x box I am thinking of a multi room facility here.

Studio (where you would record live instruments and vocals)

Control room (tracking and mixing room capable of accomadating 4 to 5 individuals comfortably plus the engineer and producer.

equipment room (because I can not stand the sounds of computer fans)

Lounge : houses the pool table, wet bar, tv, x-box,whatever.

Front desk (reception area)
