^yeah you would record each mic to a seperate track and mic each drum then get a couple mics picking up the sound of the whole room then you mix the sounds together to get a more natural sound becasue after all who listens to drums with their ear to the drum. the mic placement and the room make a difference as well as the editing and mixing after the drums have been recorded. i go to school for that shit we was recording drums i got a kit we recorded to sound pretty good but its not easy.
