What is the diff... btwn Reason vs Reason Adapted? I bought Reason and a midi controller by M-Audio and it gave me Reason Adapted.

Trying to hook up the midi keyboard for my son and I can't get it to play a single note. Any answers or tips?

not sure about the difference between the adapted and th e normal one but to make your contraoller owrk you gotta go to edit preferences then scroll till you see MIDI and if your controller is set up right it should work. With reason you gotta reset that setting every time you turn the controller offand don't turn it off while reason is running, that shit will make your comp crash.

the controller should have came with some software (drivers) for it...install it and do what jayda said and go to Edit > Preferences...scroll to MIDI and select the controller in the Port menu...

P.S. if you bought Reason i don't think you should bother installing Adapted...

I loaded up the driver and the comp wasn't seeing it. But once I restarted it it worked. Thanx. My son is 12 y/o; do you think Reason is cool for someone his age? I thought FL was the easiest. But he is advance for his age. He fuccs with my ProTool digi 002 board.

if he can figure out pro tools I'm sure he can figure out reason. I found it easier to use than FL but thats just me
