Well Ive played with Reason and other soft synths programs.....and to tell you the truth I hate em....I like using other things like sound modules, mpc ect.....then I found out one of my favorite producers uses only reason to make his beats nuthin else.....he uses reason and a keyboard as a controller....this aint no hole in the wall producer....he the best in the bay in my opinion....i wont say names but he did produce that Feelin Myself joint plus way mo shit he OG in the bay....yall can put two and two together....if u know who did that track....i got this info from sumeone credible in his camp as well....shit blew my mind it made me rethink using REASON....if my favorite producer use it why shouldnt I? What yall think about the subject?

i think Reason by itself is too limited. the sequencer leaves a lot to be desired and it is not very modular. having said that, professional quality music can certainly be done with it and there are many pros using it as part of their arsenal, in conjunction with vst instruments (rewired to cubase or whatever else) and their modules and analog synths. i know that battlecat sampled all of his modules and uses the samples in reason along with several vst instruments.

but the bottom line is that if you hate using software synths and reason, then you hate using them... don't try to use something that you dislike because someone else does.

^Thats what I'm saying, I'm pretty cozy with reason and reason alone. I messed with the triton and i actually like reason alot more. I don't like how the layered sounds on a triton take up multiple tracks and you could rob polyphony hella quick if you use too many of them. If you know how to use anything well enough and you have vision you can sound good if you ask me. Reason is known around the world as top of the line software and I know for a fact alot of A-List musicians use it. Like the story goes if it sounds good, it is good.

Well I know many of today producers use Reason and I just copped the upgrade from my 2.5 and its hella cool just like another sound mod. in my rack but like anything else I use many things to make my music and they are considered as tools for my expression.

I use reason, and a keyboard, thats it. At first i said, damn, im gonna need alot more equipment, but after playin with it for a while, u find out its some real good shit. Stuff i felt wasnt soundin proper, was stuff i got offers for. Bottom line, like homeboy said, if you dont like it, just dont use it cause someone else does. Experiment and find what you feel comfortable with.

Just to clear things up a bit, Sean T uses MANY different things to produce...Reason, MPC, MBox, different modules, samples, plays live instruments and even makes his own sounds. He's always changing up what he uses so that his sound stays fresh. Sean DID NOT use Reason when he did the Feelin Myself track for Mac Dre. I'm a pretty credible person from him camp too...I'm his wife! :)

Angie does sean still have the mpc 4000 and mbox? When I inquired about purchasing the mpc 4000 I was told it was already sold to messy marv. Concerning the M-BOX the guy who said he purchased it from sean had me go to MOE-MOE's home to hook it up at 12:30 am like a month ago. He even had a beat or two that sean gave him (48k format impossible to burn without conversion).

So did sean buy a new mbox or is this guy lyin when he said he purchased his from sean? Did sean sale the mpc 4000 to marv or was I told it was sold (by two different people on two different occassions) so I couldnt buy it?

Heresy: Ang told me that he DID sell the MPC4000.....But bought another...

I knew he sold it but i didn't know he purchased another one. Now whats the deal on the mbox? Playboy who said he copped it from sean was trying to hook it up to a laptop. I came through the spot and tried to get it to work. It wouldn't run. after an hour it hit me" check the service pack". So i did and the version of pt he had was not compatible with the service pack installed.

:hgk:

ps I'm glad to know he actually DID sell it and peeps werent lying about the ordeal. Now if I could just get my hands on one I'll be set for a month.
