I been listening to this new Game album LAX and it's by far his weakest album IMO.

Sounds like he doesn't even care anymore, lyrics sound like shit with no substance. It sounds rushed and I (personaly) feel he could have came stronger and much more tighter (hence: his prior projects).

There was not even a handful of tracks I can recall tight. Beats sound rather underground and not up to par, yet I've only spun it twice, but I'm a believer that if the shit is tight...you'll know right away. You shouldn't have to spin an album 20 times and learn to love it.

Going off subject for a moment, the Ice Cube: Raw Footage has some bangers with a much more mature point of view IMO. Much like gangsta rap when it crossed over to the mainstream in the 90's, I feel rap is crossing over into a much more mature audiance today. Yes, it may be hard for some to accept rappers pushing 40 and beyond still rapping and believe that perhaps some should hang up the mic, but in the early days of Hip Hop: Many believed it to be a passing phase. Long live Hip Hop and let's keep moving forward into the music history books like those of other genre of music...don't allow age to be the reason to sweep a rapper under the rug (if he's still coming tight). At the end of it all, that's what they've always wanted to do is sweep us under the rug and be forgotten.

You'll find the newer artist are disappearing a lot quicker these days.

Co-sign with this thread. I bought the LAX album today just off of the strength of the producers that were listed on the credits and of course, Game. He must have picked the weakest beats from all these superstar producers to be on the album. His worst album by far. Dope Boys is my favorite track and probably the only radio friendly song. I don't know what he was thinking on this one.

Damn, kids won't read a fuckin' book unless it has pictures LOL!!!!

Anyhow Brugh, I think Game told all these superstar producers that he was gonna go with the $20.00 beats they had to cut cost.

Fuckin' Horrible album! Once the first track came on, I was thinking...."This is the first track?" I gave it a chance, but it never built up anywhere near...muchless surpassing his prior albums.

I spun it again with my nephew (still thinking it's just me) and my nephew looks at me like, "What the fuck? This is Game?"

like who? can you think of 8 rappers?

i also think you are being "a hater"

didnt wanna use that word,

but maybe you are just giving an opinion from your own perspective as an artist instead of a legit rap fan's opinion

Maybe I just expected more, but I was not impressed. Doctor's Avocate you can actually hear him feeling regretful for going against the grain and getting dropped from Aftermath (for which I thought, STOP WHINNIN!), BUT! Beats and his lyrics are on point...tight. Not so much in this LAX case IMO.

Hater? LOL!!!! I tell ya, muthaphuckaz can't be real and state their own honest opinion without people throwing out that most over-used phrase. "YOUR JUST A HATER!"

Anyhow, I'll stay real (so people can still call me a hater) as far as 8 older rappers go, I can't name 8 (that are actually coming strong right now), but after listening to Jay Z (age: 38): American Gangster, Nas (early / mid 30's): N & Hip Hop Is Dead, and this new Ice Cube (mid/late 30's): Raw Footage (which I believe Ice Cube surpassed his previous album, Smile Now, Cry Later). Those albums are from a much more mature stance. The artist are not trying to come with a new word, or the latest gimmick...they are coming as the artist they are. Only thing added is: They stepped their game up.

Be it that there are not a lot of albums from older rappers that hold water today, but those few are a start in the right direction.

yeah , his first two albums, you put in the cd player and right away you feel something dope. this one wasnt like that for me. the first track sets a lazy tone for the rest of the cd.

thumbs down so far for me. that ice cube is ok. still listenin to it.

There tends to be a lack of communication, or more of a misunderstanding due to not being able to hear a persons voice.

I never really cared for Oscar De La Hoya, but I see your point. By that same tolken, being that I am a boxing fan. You can see a boxer (even if it's your favorite) and accept the reality that he perhaps doesn't have it anymore, ya feel me?

BUT! What I'm saying is the younger generation of rappers don't come with platinum albums like they used to. In their defense, albums are not selling like they used to...which equals them to fall off a lot faster and never to be heard from again (or just heard about here and there) *cough cough* Chingy, Slim Thug, Paul Wall, Mike Jones (who?), Hot Rod, Spider Loc etc etc...which in some cases, many never reach a point to really shine.

...so yes, the younger rappers are disappearing real fast.

Cosign... My neice flew into lax this morning. Shit had me trippin.

My bad Homie, didn't mean to cause you a hot flash due to stress (seriously).

On the other hand, many may think I failed or I'm a fuckin' asshole (I gladly accept), due to making them believe something that wasn't there. They may feel like I let them down, but fact of the matter is...I made them look. Some would call that great marketing.

didnt chingy dissapear cause Jay Z raped Defjam's budget? dude jacked the label's money lmao

but sometimes i do wonder, if most new rappers cant make it because the older rappers(as in rapping for longer in the game) wont move out of the way,

plus nobody sells platinum anymore, at least not until a few years till they get the internet on lock
