actually, the D-Backs other starters aren't too shabby either. Their numbers may not speak for themselves, but if you do a little research you'll see that Helling has been amazing on the mound minus 2 or 3 bad outtings when he got roughed up big time. And the times he got lit up were when he got injured. I'd say in 75% of his games this year, he's only allowed 2 or less earned runs.
And Batista is the most versatile pitcher in the league. Put him anywhere, and he'll wear the batters out. Hes also really good in high pressure situations. Remember when he pitches game 4 in the world series. Went 7 2/3 innings gave up NO runs and scattered I think 3, maybe 4 hits. And you better believe if the Diamondbacks get to the WS that Schilling and Johnson AND Batista will be in the bullpen if they aren't starting and the games on the line.
