This is the sister of Kirk Huffman (Kay Kay and His Weathered Underground, Wild Orchid Children, Gatsbys American Dream). She is backed on this recording by her brother and a couple other members of Kay Kay and His Weathered Underground. A great release for fans of the aforementioned, her old jazz band Man In the Blue Van or just good female fronted folk and country. The source is a FLAC version of this release which was a download that came with the vinyl version (vinyl only release).
Nurses is a band from Portland, Oregon and they released this album last summer but I didn't hear about them until a few months back. I liked the album a lot on first listen and now I just love it. In my opinion there is not a dud on the whole thing. I don't know why it's taken me so long to post it on here seeing I listen to it at least a few times a week from front to back. I'd have a hard time explaining their sound but I think fans of Portugal. The Man, Local Natives, and bands of the like would really dig them. Give them a listen.

Don't think I ever posted any Good Health in here. It's the ex-guitarist from Dance Gavin Dance on the Deathstar and Happiness albums. I used to argue with him all the time on another forum but he's actually a cool guy once you get over the fact he doesn't handle criticism very well. Lo fi/ experimental stuff.

Here's a couple new songs from Wavves that I've really been feelin. Used to be noise pop but these songs seem pretty cleaned up so now its just some interesting indy pop. Seems like it should be a good summer album.
