He was arrested Saturday night on suspicion of misdemeanor assault, misdemeanor vandalism and public drunkenness, Walnut Creek Lt. Loren Cattolico said Monday.
Janikowski, who was cited for drunken driving last October, was bailed out of jail Sunday.
The Raiders were in Denver for a game Monday night against the Broncos. A team spokesman did not return a call.
Police said a fight broke out at the Walnut Creek restaurant. Several people told officers they had been assaulted by Janikowski, who was "very intoxicated," police said.
The player did not resist arrest, Cattolico said. No one had serious injuries.
Janikowski also was suspected of breaking the mirrors off some cars parked near the restaurant, Cattolico said.
Janikowski was cited last Oct. 1 by a highway patrol officer who pulled him over. His blood-alcohol level registered 0.20, well above the state's legal limit of 0.08.
Janikowski pleaded no contest to a misdemeanor charge of drunken driving and was placed on three years' probation. He also was fined $1,292 and ordered to perform community service and enroll in a DUI school.
In 2001, Janikowski was acquitted on charges of possessing a date-rape drug. In 2000, he was acquitted on a charge that he offered a Tallahassee, Fla., police officer $300 to release his roommate after an argument with a nightclub bouncer.
