This is the type of cat that Dre was. I didn't talk to TL for about 3 or 4 years. I was mad at him for some shit that he did and was holding a grudge. When Dre came to 80 West studio in Vallejo to rap his verse on "I Can't Go For That" off of "High Caliber" we were talking about old times, like we would always do. Dre was a for real, big N2DEEP fan, and he started asking me about TL. I told him that I wasn't really fucking with him, and he said something along the lines of" Man fuck that, I'm calling him and telling him to come down here". About an hour later, TL comes knocking on the door. We been friends again ever since. When Dre left the studio, he was in his Cougar with the rims on it, he got pulled over and the cops found hella weed. I think they impounded the car and took all of his weed. He never even complained to me about it. He really didn't even come to Vallejo at all, but I needed him to his verse, so he showed up. He always had my back. True soldier....

I told this story on BART, but I'll tell it here, too. In '99, Dre did a show with Little Bruce in Petalume. The afterparty was in Santa Rosa. Everyone had telly rooms, and we all spent the night out there. The next morning, the person I was with flaked and left me stranded in SR. I called Miami, who was ridin with Dre, and let him know that I was stuck. Even though they were already almost back to Vallejo, Dre turned around and drove back to SR to get my lame ass. His reasoning was that I was from the V, he was from the V, and he wouldn't feel like it was a good night knowing that I was left stranded. That's they kinda dude Dre was.

Great story, Jay Tee. And it's probably only one of many, I would suspect, based on what I've read on BART and other boards here...
