Why do you follow or believe in the god/ways of your religion?

Is it because of Tradition?

Is it because of your own reasoning?

Or a religious experience, which led you to believe it was a calling from your god, and that's how you came about to believe in your religion?

Just curious, not looking for a debate, although I'm pretty sure, someone will start one just to start one.

I guess you could say its through my own reasoning that I believe in a higher power, but I also dont think you can really rationalize belief of a god. The fact that all beings have a consciousness, whcih can not be physically found anywhere in the body is probably the main reason I would attribute to my belief that there is something unknowable that is more powerful than us.

I was raised up in the catholic church till i was about 13. i never did learn much about the bible because i didn't read it. i found my spiritual side just by hanging with my friends as they we're brothers. I got really deep off the things we did and said. What i ended up finding out was God was my best friend and then i started reading the bible. i went back to church and everything they did now makes sense.

I now follow is because I researched the sacred names of god. And I see how even the evil people recognize and respect his name. They know he's more powerful. This is from a spiritual view. Also I have seen that supernatural power is real even today. This is enough proof that God exists.

Also all the prophecies from the Book Of Revelations matches exactly what the New World Order is doing. And this shows the last days are here. The purpose of the New World Order seems in vain, since once they get to where they want and think they have order and peace... well that is when THEIR destruction and judge ment will fall upon them... and No fuckin Owl God.. or sun god.. or Lucifer is going to save them on that day...They think they are gods.. but they are only flesh.. and flesh can be destroyed...

I Also like religion cause I love the idea of gaining immortality...

is children beign molested a higher power? is this so called "higher power" worth all the killings? is it worth not allowing priests to have sex with a female just so they will bring little boys down to their knees for something more than prayer? must every church take money from people for their own good, and not for the word of god? i know youre not askin for an arguement here, but im just questioning the belief. are religious people only religious for protection? if so why must religion cause the most wars on this planet? why must our children suffer at the hands of a priest? why must only the religious virgin girls on this planet end up raped and molested at the age of 5? why give people the hope of protection if youre gonna take their inocence?

How the hell do they take money? You're the one giving them money, unless you're talking about Churches that have sold out, and rely on Taxes to fund them, but you are ignorant on the subject.

i follow my religion because of my own reasoning. i wouldnt say i follow it 100% but i always try to do whats right, but sometimes it just doesnt work out like that.

for me its like this, ive seen so many things, ive seen so many crazy situations just come together into a good that no one predicted, but in such a way i would hate to think of it as coincidence. ive also seen the effects of prayer. in most cases, assuming your intentions are good when you pray, it works. heres the difference between me and most people of faith though. i dont believe any rituals or whatever other title you want to pin on religious acts, will get you a place in heaven. i also dont believe any person has really figured out god to such a degree that they may make a religion. you should have more than religion in your life. i honestly dont think any one formula works for everyone, therefor it is best to figure out what god wants of you, not what your pastor or congregation wants of you. so to sum this all up, i have seen evidence that in my opinion proves the existence of a higher power, but i dont follow any organized religion

IMO, in some cases, yes, For a better cause, it's to have one straighten the path of his life.
