ok so I got quite a few and my MAIN pet peeve is that alot of em are labeled differently...In order to organize em it would take DAYS to re-tag them....Is there another alternative or easier way?

^^how many you got?

Most of my mp3's are from CD's so they're mostly in the correct format anyway. But occasionally I get music from other sources and I just took hella time organizing them. I have the same pet peave/compulsion, so I know where you're coming from.

Pretty much every cd I've ever owned minus a few that have been lost are on my computer, plus whatever I've downloaded over the years. Damn I remember when napster first came out... and when Morpheus/Kazaa/Sharezaa had only 4,000 total users. I've watched it grow to over 4 million at one point.

i had that problem a few times and just toughed it out a renamed them and what not...now i just make sure i tag em all as i get them whenever i get em from another source

same here...it's a bitch and I like to have everything organized.

I have somewhere around 10 gigs so it's not as bad as some of ya'll that have 5 or 10 times that amount.

I use a program that I downloaded a while back called Mp3 Illyrium Manager 2000 it works great and even clans up the file name. It also asks what format you want the tag in like artist - titile and from the tag will fix most of them. I got like 20 gb of songs and used this to sort through all of them.

man i had the same problem...and i just had to sit thru and label and change each title and everything one at a time...its a bitch but in the end i got it all done..but really...suck it up mark...come on man!
hahha pretttymuch. i spent daaays organizing them... artist, title, composer/producer, genre, track #, album title, year... blahblah

first i did it 'artist ft. artist - title' then i realized itll suck on mp3 players cause there'll be hellaaaa artists with features. so i REDID it with 'artist - title ft. artist" haha its soo worth it. my collection is beautiful and i brag how perfect and clean it looks. hahah

a simple to change one artist is to select it all by him and right click properties and in the summary tab, you can edit the info and itll all be the same.. but title is always gonna be different and so is the file name.mp3, so i do those manually. no real easy way to get around it.. you just gotta sit down and take your time.. its a pain, but soo worth it haha
