The Lord of the Rings was first published in 1954 as a sequel to Tolkien's The Hobbit. JRR Tolkien was born in England on Jan. 3, 1892 and died Sept. 2, 1973.

You can find more information regarding the books and their author at http://www.tolkien.co.uk/frame.asp

I just saw it last night as well, kicked ASS!!!

And for you that can read and like to read, i suggest reading "The Hobbit". It takes place before the lord of the rings, and explanes how Biblo finds the ring, but that is just a small part of the whole story.

ATTN: YOuNg WiNo,

J.R.R. Tolkien, was a teacher at some college, and was grading papers for his (writing, or somethin like that) class when he came acrossed a blank paper someone handed in. He then wrote on that piece of paper, "Their once was a hobbit" And thatz where it all started.
***************

His son now is trying to finished unfinished stories from his fathers created world. But the Lord of the Rings is the most famous trilogy, and every other story besides the Hobbit is more complicated to follow. The Hobbit is the most easy to read out of all his work, and the most famous of all his work. There have been i think 2 or 3 version made for the screen, @ least 1 was made into a cartoon(which is pritty chessy).

which is more evil a movie about sorccery, magic, dragons and wizards.........or a preacher telling you to give 10% of your income and lying about YHWH?

by the way on the occult and evil sclae if it was a 1-10 with 10 being the highest that movie (and the one before it) would be a 666.

the MAGIK spells,incantations,symbolism....i can go on and on........
