How do some of these become official? For example...I'll hear 101 remixes of a particular song on mixtapes featuring so and so. Next thing you know, I hear one of the lucky ones getting more airplay on the radio than the original. Do the stations just snag them up, play em and they grow from there? What about royalties? Do the original artist get their money as if the original was being spun. Or is it just exposure for an artist/producer who made the remix and nothing more, with all monies going to the original label or artist?
