Hey I was curious what websites you guys used for your Fantasy football leagues?

I havent played in a couple years but used to use Yahoo. I found it relatively easy to use. Now I am using ESPN for Fantasy Baseball, its also seems relatively easy to use and a little more flashy. however, they had a HUGE fuckup early in the season which made the standings all weird.

Anyways what are the pros and cons of Yahoo!, ESPN, or NFL.com or any other Fantasy site?

I've been using Yahoo for a long time, and the pro's are that it's free and easy to use. The cons are that you don't win anything, unless you join a plus league but that means you have to pay an amount up front. It's tight to do money leagues with your friends and just set it up through yahoo though...

What do you all want to know????

I have ran fanatasy football leagues for over 15 years now.

Best free league is Yahoo (in my opinion), espn is good, I don't like foxsports at all....and cbssportsline (nfl.com) is ok

Another free site I found this season is www.fleaflicker.com.....so far so good...lets see how it works in season though.

Pay sites my fav is www.fanball.com I have used this site for 6 years now..Cheaper than alot of other pay sites ($60) ($70 if you sign up after july). You can set up your league rules to your liking, they have private message boards for your league, but also public message boards to go to for help on anything rom line-ups to the website itself.

Starting a league?

The possibilities are endless really!

Since I have been playing since before it started becomeing popular I am more of an old school str8 forward type player.

this means you draft anywhere from 15-20 players in a sepertine draft with 10 -12 other players (oeners)

starting line up is 1 qb
2rb
2wr
1te
1k
1team d/st

no scoring for my leaguers is 1 pt for every 10 yards rushing or recieving, 1 pt for 25 yards passing, 6 points for a td, and various bouns points as well

kickers get 3 points 0-39, 4 40-49, 5 50+ and bouns points for 2 or more 50+ fg's in 1 game

Now you can make the scoring be whatever you want....

Also more and more leagues are using IDP (individual defese players) instead of team d.

this means you would draft champ bailey, jason taylor, huff, etc./...as opposed to saying just Denver!

So if anyone has ANY questions at all I would be glad to help with my expertise! Because when you get into the nitty gritty of making league rules regarding trades, free agents, deadlines, etc....that is where most confusuon with leagues start....and if you don't fix it right away the league could be in for a quick downfall

Pm and ask away!

You want to do live draft (imo) autodrafts suck (again imo)

the type of league is up to you!

Do you like picking defense players or just a tem and be done?

do you want to start 2 qb's a week against 11 other owners (meaning 22 starts qb a week) or just 1 qb against 9 other owners (10 starters a week)

the possibilities are endless like I said above. Go to browse leagues and you can view settings...find 1 that looks appealing to you.

I have seen leagues where you have to pick a team...Denver for example...and you get payers from that team to fill your roster...I played last year in a league where I was the afc west....I got to pick my players from all 4 afc west teams, etc....it's up to you

either way find a league and have fun! It makes football season even better than what it already is!

CBSSportsline.com has a good setup and is fairly easy to use. The live scoring makes it all worth while and it archives team stats for past years. While it may cost more than most, it's definitely worth the money in my opinion...

whats your current rosetr limit, and league set-up?

with 14 I personaly would just go with a 13 week league (play everyone once)..no divisions...then top 8 make playoffs, no byes

wk 14 1-8 2-7 3-6 4-5
wk15 1-4 2-3 (you know what I mean...winners)
wk 16 super bowl and 3rd place games

I would probably try to keep rosters down to around 14 or 5...but then that really hurts back-ups

How soon/late should I set up my draft?
If I were you, I'd wait as long as you can. That way all the training camp battles, signings, releases, cuts etc. will be figured out and you'll get better idea of what opening day depth charts will look like. It'll also help out the from the injury perspective. Some guys get hurt in preseason which hurts their draft value.

I'd wait until the end of August if possible. That's what we do in our league...just my opinion though.
