Me and some friends were at this spot in Modesto.. one of my boys was having problems with some of the girls we met up with and that started popping off at the mouth.. whatever. So he pushes one of the bitches out of the way and a bouncer sees this. Keep in mind at some of these clubs/bars in Modesto (or anywhere) they think it's tight to put people in chokes to escort them out, so thats what they tried to do. Now my boy got out of it and started choking the bouncer until his face turned beet red. Other bouncers came they got him out of there. The bouncer shows the cop his neck and said it was hurt so the cop filed assault charges. My question is, given the fact that bouncers are not affiliated with the government/law, can't my boy just claim self defense? Even if he refused to walk out of the club the bouncer came at him like that.

you could pursue self defense.. but alot of things depend on it.. like how hard did he push the female, did the bouncer touch him first, did the bouncer ask him to leave more than once, but if youre put on a chokehold thats self defense, if it was a headlock thats different. A chokehold cuts off the oxygen to the brain, a blood choke cuts the blood circulation to the brain.. resulting in the person passing out.

Fuck bouncers.

Tell him to fight the case, odds are they'll offer a plead to a lesser offence.

Assault convictions don't look good when job hunting
