Is anyone buyin a next gen console this month, and which one are you goin with and why? I ain't buyin for a couple months but am on the fence about which to go with. I only got the time and $$ to own one or the other, but it's a pretty big decision as it may determine my gaming experience for the next 6-8 years. Thoughts?

X-Box One might end up like the Dreamcast, thats how bad Microsoft is getting beat out right now. I preordered a PS4 but it got canceled cuz my credit card information got stolen and the last thing i was thinking about is whats the status my preorder. Im glad about that anyways cuz i never buy games for full price, ill wait for games to get down to $10 on Gohastings and gamefly just like this past generation of systems lol

wait til E3 when they announce more "killer app" type games for each. launch titles are gonna barely look better than the big games coming out now.

I was originally an X-box exclusively, "fuck Sony PS!", gamer from '04 to the end of 2010
when my 360 gave me the ring of death after a solid 4 yrs or so of service.
(my og x-box still goes and my baby primo plays it to this date) The next day
I went to rent a center and copped a ps3. That was the only console they had un-opened in stock and i wanted the blue ray player so i was like fuck it i'll copp it and mess with it til I buy a new x box soon enough...
Man, I like ps3 so much more I never got another 360 but bought a second ps3 (god of war red) and look forward to the ps4.
exclusives wise gears of war and halo were fun but they cant hold me!! Im not sure I fuck with any sony exclusives to tell you the truth but ive never been left out of something else I seen and really wanted but was x-box only... nevermind god of war is exclusive and that trumps those 2!!
not looking back and focusing on whats next all I can say is ps4 s 100$ cheaper.
there is a software that you can pay for and have access to play your old discs
and old playstation 1 and 2 games as well. cross console titles are offering a 10$ upgrade.
the x box one is useless with out the 5gb day one patch so internet is a huge thing to consider.

PS4 all the way.

It's more powerful, it's $100 cheaper, and it has games that appeal to me more. We can't forget the fact that Microsoft was trying to fuck over consumers with 24 hour check-ins, a restricted game trading service and a lot of the features they're touting are locked behind the Xbox Live Gold paywall.

I've been primarily a 360 gamer this gen, but the way Microsoft seems to be cutting support for the 360, just like they did for the OG Xbox, is unsettling. The only big exclusive they released this year is Gears of War: Judgment, and I couldn't even be bothered to play it, despite being a huge Gears fan. Halo 3 is awesome, and ODST is great and extremely underrated, but Halo started falling off, in my opinion, with Reach. The campaign is great, but the MP kinda sucked. Reach also ruined Firefight, which is awesome in ODST. Halo 4's campaign wasn't that memorable for me. It looked great, but it was kinda boring.

Being a single player gamer primarily, I feel like I enjoyed Sony's exclusives more and The Last of Us coming so late in the console cycle shows that Sony supports its consoles a lot longer than MS does.

Personally for me both consoles are very similar internally (yes ps4 slight edge) but still with that alone it really isn't enough to make me switch up from Xbox to ps4 honestly......NOW 2 huge things for me is making me sway a lil more toward ps4 tho 1 being that stupid ass used game policy (DRM policy) that Microsoft has now implemented, I mean I bought the fuckin game with MY money and if I want to sell it to gamestop or any other retail chain and/or purchase a "used" game that should be MY business NOT microsofts to dictate!!! And 2 Microsoft is locking all it's apps behind their paywall and sony isn't......personally I'm already paying monthly for a service like netflix and now to continue to pay for Xbox live as well (which I have always hated but dealt with) now the only thing is BOTH Microsoft and sony r making us pay for multiplayer so that is already what I'm basically doing with Xbox live so kind of cancels out my 2nd argument lol.....anyway I'm a wait it out obviously and see what happens with feedback from friends that have both consols and if I hear the same ol' arguments about the 2 consols I'll probably just stay with Xbox and right now that's a BIG probably lol

To me, it's just the principle of the matter. If someone doesn't play a lot of multiplayer, they have to pay to access apps and features.

Even though I haven't subscribed to PS+ yet, which I will be in less than a week once I get my PS4, the games that you get for free pay for PS+. MS started Games with Gold recently, but all the games have been super old, whereas with PS+, you get fairly new games.

Agreed man at the end of the day what it boils down to for me are the games. Eventhough exclusives are becoming less and less I felt like xbox really had Sony beat this last generation with games and dlc (for example havin gta and skyrim dlc way before Sony, and some games like witcher 2 never even came out on ps3) I wonder if Microsoft is gonna keep that edge or if the deals have all changed

The PC > Both PS4 & XBONE

No match (and I'm not just saying it because I am employed by the world's best)
Of course a pc will always be better, but a console is a matter of convenience that's gonna last for many years. PC, you want to play the top of the line games that's $2,000 and gotta keep upgrading. If u got the time and money hell yeah, for me though I'm going with ps4.

Plus i have inside knowledge that Microsoft will implement many of those same restrictions with time. Add to that ps4 is a more powerful machine and cheaper - no brainer.

It does not cost 2k for a solid gaming pc, I built my last system for 4hun (true I get half price discounts on company related stuff but deals are out there) and it can do everything a ps4 or xbox one can do plus more- 2 years after build- no competition (plus I can upgrade for a fraction, consolers can't without buying a new entire system). The power is multiple times greater, the graphics are more advanced, and I don't have to follow Sony or MS rules and policies and their lack of usability and content restrictions.

Yes if you want to go with a far inferior system of PS4 or MS definitely go with PS4 but if you want the real deal holyfield you do it pc.

Here's proof from an industry expert

"NVIDIA spends 1.5 billion US dollars per year on research and development in graphics, every year, and in the course of a console's lifecycle we'll spend over 10 billion dollars into graphics research. Sony and Microsoft simply can't afford to spend that kind of money. They just don't have the investment capacity to match the PC guys; we can do it thanks to economy of scale, as we sell hundreds of millions of chips, year after year.........If you want to go faster, you need a more efficient design or a bigger power supply. The laws of physics dictate that the amount of performance you're going to get from graphics is a function of the efficiency of the architecture, and how much power budget you're willing to give it........you're not going to get anything that is significantly more power efficient in a console, as it's using the same core technology. Yet the consoles have power budgets of only 200 or 300 Watts, so they can put them in the living room, using small fans for cooling, yet run quietly and cool. And that's always going to be less capable than a PC, where we spend 250W just on the GPU. There's no way a 200W Xbox is going to beat a 1000W PC......The technology that we're applying to PC graphics is literally state of the art, at the limits of semiconductor technology. That's why I don’t think it’s possible any more to have a console that can outperform the PC."
