IGN (CoD 3): "Xbox moves at a smoother framerate with few hitches, while the PS3 version stutters often and boasts a more "washed out" color palette ... Washed out colors, multiple collision issues, and a highly inconsistent framerate hurt what was a very good looking Xbox 360 game"

IGN (NFS Carbon): "One disappointing aspect is that the PlayStation 3 version of the game doesn't have a couple of the "show off" features that the Xbox 360 game does ... Visually, the PlayStation 3 version of Need for Speed Carbon falls short of its Xbox 360 counterpart. The two games run at roughly the same framerate, but the PS3's filtering effects, specifically the blurring, can be ugly. Road textures look nice and detailed at low speeds, but when you're flying down the road and the game blurs everything, they simply look poor."

IGN (THP8): "The second problem with the PS3 variant of Project 8 is that it simply doesn't run all that well. The game chops up left and right, sometimes to the point where the controls don't feel responsive. It's bad enough that the camera isn't always perfect, but when it's staring at the bottom of your board and the game is running at 15fps, well, there's a major problem ... It's certainly disappointing that the PlayStation 3 is so far behind the Xbox 360 game. Framerate issues are apparent at every other turn"

Gamespot (NFS Carbon) "Need for Speed Carbon on the PlayStation 3 looks roughly comparable to its Xbox 360 counterpart ... There are a few subtle differences, most of which the PlayStation 3 version comes up on the short end of."

Gamespot (NBA 2k7): "...even in 720p, the action gets choppy. The frame rate's not too bad when you're playing from the default camera angle, but it isn't as smooth as on the Xbox 360."

Gamespot: (CoD 3): "a problematic frame rate leaves the game looking decidedly less impressive than it does on the Xbox 360 ... it was fast and mostly smooth on the 360, but the game's extremely choppy on the PlayStation 3."

Trying to bring logic and common sense to a Sony fanboy is like trying to argue with a spoiled rotten 12 year old kid with a sugar buzz and add. They don't want to hear anything you have to say, and they always have an excuse for everything...
yup what he said

Games that are really gonna push ps3 are Metal Gear, Killzone 2, Assains Creed, and a few others. Right now i would say the 360 is a slight bit better then the ps3 (graphic wise) but once the good games come out, ps3 is gonna be shittin on xbox.

some developers have stated that the xbox 360 and ps3 are about equal in terms of power. Hideo Kojima, creator of the MGS series, even stated that mgs4 is possible on the xbox 360. graphics and all. The big problem with the ps3, is that it is extremely difficult to develop for. It wont be unusual to see multiplatform games looking and running better on xbox 360 due to this very problem.

Didn't the early games on 360 kind of suck too when it was first launched? It took a while before any really impressive games came out for Xbox, I suspect the same for PS3
true. when ps2 came out even the dreamcast was shittin all over it. even though it didnt ever become a graphic powerhouse it improved over time.

I have an X Box 360 and the only problem I would say the system has is the Hardware error/3 blinking red lights/freezing problem that thousands of people are experiencing. Im sending my system in tomorrow, thankfully for free, but most of the other people havent been so lucky. Microsoft is shooting themselves in the head for future gaming because everyone who has suffered through these errors is switching from Microsoft to Sony, for life.

im no sony fanboy

but

u are forgetting that
1)this is the first lineup of games on PS3. judging ne launch games is silly. what about the PS1?! remember the graphics in battle arena toshinden? i mean, just compare final fantasy 7 with final fantasy 8 (graphically). the early stages of a console are always the worst as far as the games (graphically). the developers havnt learned enough about the system to exploit all of its potential. and besides 360 is a YEAR in. id hope developers would be able to utilize it as well as a infant system like ps3
2) they are all ports! anytime u port a game to another system, especially when u dont know shit about the system ur porting it to, stuff is gonna suffer from more problems than the original system.

perfect dark, cod 2 , psg & g.r.a.w were launch titles and were all stuning games and each won awards. I only see resistance of man getting awards from launch.

but whateva aslong as both are equally matched us consumers will get the best of the compertion so why complain?

All I know is the launch games for 360 looked better than the launch games for ps3 look now. And after playing the Wii today, that shit is gonna be the best (most fun) system, and 360 will be worth keeping around for certain games. There wont be no need to get a ps3 unless you really really want a blu ray player.

the fact of the matter is people are paying 200 dollars extra for a system they perceive to be as much more powerful and the launch games arent up to par with the 360's

That stats sheet is old, they took out one the two HDMI slots on the 60g PS3, and took both out for the 20g version.

Also, the 360 came out with an update in November for 1080p support, they also have recently started the Video Marketplace, which lets you buy tv shows and rent standard and HD movies...

What is really going tobe telling is when games like Oblivion and Fight Night Round 3 hit the PS3, they've had an extra year for programming, and FN looks exactly the same, minus the first person mode that I can just wait for FN round 4 to do. Oblivion looks exactly the same as it did on the 360, and has no exclusive content whatsoever.

Resistance looks good, but it's not $600 good.
